Like many started out with KeilKraft kits at young age (under 10) - favourite was Invader but probably largely because I could not afford a Minimoa!

Tried to teach myself on a single channel MacGregor set in powered gliders with a little success. Learnt properly by slope soaring on the Gower peninsula and off Rhossili cliffs, using a beautiful 4 channel Skyleader set that consumed 2 years savings.

Took a break to raise a family, moved to 'Gods Own County' with work. Flew variety of planes and was a relatively early adopter of leccy power. Solely electric for a number of years....

Now retired to East Coast near Filey and Scarborough with a varied fleet including gliders (electric and dlg), fixed wing (electric and ic, glow and petrol) and a few small electric helis.  I am very lucky in that I am retired, have a flying field I can walk to in 10 mins, a 31 foot long ex-pigeon coop to build/repair/store my toys, and a wife that indulges me!

Now loving EdgeTX and waiting for warmer weather to fly my Seagull P-47 kit build.  Biggest (in volume) heaviest plane I own, with largest engine - 20cc petrol.

Forum name is GrumpyGnome because one of my bosses once said to me..."what's wrong? You are stomping about like a grumpy gnome!".... that was about 25 years ago. I am more mellow these days.....
