  1. @Phil Green Thank you so much for your kind words and praise, I was blown away with the editing skills of Joel on this video, I am not an arty person so find making a good edit quite hard. He has used clips and transitions I would never think about using. @Josip Vrandecic-Mes Thank you, the skills of this rider is amazing (Ben Williams), he said he had earned the skills while loosing many layers of skin on his shins and a constant replenishment of part worn rear tyres from local garages
  2. Such a great day chasing 1.3G Stunts rider Ben Williams around the beautiful Davidstow Airfield in Cornwall, UK. We couldn't of asked for better weather and also filmed on the longest day of the year to get that golden footage Huge thank you to Ben Williams for his amazing bike skills - https://www.facebook.com/13g-Stunts-536434740064412/ Huge thank you to Joel Tucker for this amazing edit - https://www.facebook.com/joel.tucker.58 Setup: ImpulseRC Reverb http://www.droneislife.co.uk/frames Gemfan Windancer 5043 durable props http://droneislife.co.uk/props Aikon AK32 35Amp BlHeli_32 ESCs https://droneislife.co.uk/escs/ Aikon F4 FC BF https://droneislife.co.uk/aikon-f4-flight-controller 3BHobby 2207 2700Kv Pro2 motors https://www.facebook.com/groups/163309940998787/ https://www.banggood.com/3BHOBBY-Racing-Motor-2207-PROII-KV19002700-Brushless-Motor-for-Racing-RC-Drone-p-1483975.html?rmmds=search&ID=533541&cur_warehouse=CN MenaceRC Thrasher 5.8Ghz antenna https://droneislife.co.uk/video-antennas/Menace-Thrasher Acehe Formula 1500mAh 95C 4s lipo TBS Unify vTx GoPro Session 5 1080p 60fps SV/PT TBS Crossfire Tx and Micro V2 Rx Checkout 1.3G Stunts sponsors that made this video possible... 4. Hi All, Thank you very much for your input, its great to hear feedback to hopefully improve the viewing for everyone This is the first time someone else has edited my footage and I am very pleased with the result but do understand its not to everyones taste Here is one continuous video, this was one of the 6 flights done at this site, everything was going well and then near the end I spotted a thin wire cable that I had luckly missed quite a few times before but in thinking about "wow Ive missed that a few times" I took my eye off the ball and went straight into the barrier lol it was awesome fun "Run out of Luck" Edited By James JAB on 13/12/2017 09:39:44
  5. With only 6 lipo's available the challenge was on to explore this amazing location without destroying my one and only quad. For my quad I choose a full Gemfan power train using Maverick 24a DShot600 ESCs, Gemfan GT2205 2450Kv motors with Gemfan Windancer 5042 props, this combo I could be sure of reliability and performance whatever the conditions. Special thank you to SliderFPV from DroneIsLife.co.uk for this edit. I have always wanted to see what someone else could do with my footage as I very often get quite a backlog of epic spots that need editing.
  6. Hi All, Here is a quick adventure around this amazing location. The sun was shining and the wind was blowing which always leads to fun. Location: Foggintor Quarry "During the early 1840s Foggintor Quarry supplied the granite that was used to build famous London landmarks such as Nelson’s Column and London Bridge. Locally it was used for a vast number of buildings including the famous Dartmoor Prison and nearby village of Princetown." **LINK** Thank you to BrimzFPV for spotting and a lot of fun on the day. 7. Hi All, During a break in the racing, myself and most of Team Breakout got the opportunity to do a bit of exploring and found these amazing locations to have a fly. I normally try and keep as far away from water as possible as sooner or later I end up in it, these flights I flew with the knowledge that if anything went wrong I would not be recovering the footage so the adrenaline was flowing well. Any shakes you can see in the footage are purely from the pilot and not the tune on the quad Best viewed full screen 1080p @60fps I am flying my backup race quad here, Armattan SCX200 with 2600Kv red bottoms and 30A LittleBees running an XRacer 3.1 FC (Betaflight 3.0) and Acehe 1300mAh 75C 4s Lipo.
  8. Hi All, Here is a quick flight at a friends place. The location is beautiful and has sat untouched for many years which means there is an adventure via FPV at every turn. For once I didn't venture into the woods but instead had plenty of objects to fly around and do a few laps. Best viewed full screen 1080p
  9. Hi All, After a long day at work it was time to wind down and have a nice relaxing flight among the freshly cut bails of ferns, no thrills just a nice constant motion to blow the dust of the quad and for me to get my FPV fix. I hope you enjoy this flight. Best viewed full screen 1080p
  10. Thank you all, such an honour and joy to meet Sir David and share this amazing hobby with him. He was so funny and very interested in the details about the quads and FPV gear and was quite excited about what the future technology will bring. Posted by Martin Harris on 13/09/2015 20:42:15: David Jason was an enthusiastic full size glider pilot in the early seventies before fame and fortune really bit so I'd guess that he's fairly "air-minded" as I don't think the bug ever really leaves most of us. I had the pleasure of chatting with him when he revisited the London Gliding Club a bit later - I remember him being in awe of Ronnie Barker who he'd worked with on Open All Hours - the finest manipulator of words that he'd ever met. That's very interesting I did not know that, he sure did have a good passion for anything RC or flying, I think the big RC Jets got his eye the most. thanks for the information. Posted by Martin Harris on 13/09/2015 20:51:50: After watching the video, it strikes me that it might have been better to have the competent observers more visible? It strikes me after reading your comment that I did not know kneeling in a 'controlled area' made some people invisible to others, magic lol. Maybe they should have shirts saying 'Competent observer' Also why would you like to have them more visible in the video? they were seen more than enough for a video that has nothing to do with them so seems quite a strange thing to be striking you and I can't see how it would be a better video for it. If you missed the spotter then I also guess you missed the UAV pilot police officer (standing by the tent next to his police car and UAV) observing the whole flight if that interests you at all.. Are there any other 'Strikes' you might have?
  11. Hi All, I had the great honour of meeting Sir David John White, OBE (Stage name David Jason AKA Derek "Del Boy' Trotter from TV series 'Only fools and horses'. He was such a great chap to meet and have a chat with and I jumped at the chance to show him this new technology and hear his reactions to FPV Racing. The plan was to stage a small race between myself and the biggest smile in FPV 'Badlands', I planned to stay close behind Badlands to get some awesome close proximity shots. The wind was very strong and caused a few wobbles but the plan went well and David got a smooth ride up until the end. Sadly a generator was running near us which drowns some of the sound out. DougC was acting as our spotter during this event with Mike Elliott adding some commentary for the benefit of David. Thank you guys. Huge thank you to Horizon Hobby UK for putting on this awesome event, every facet of the RC world was covered by some of the courtiers top hobbyists in attendance, the first UK Airmeet for Horizon Hobby. **LINK** Huge thank you to Leamington Hobby Centre for the awesome venue and for getting in a rowing boat to recover my Spanky 5 quad from the RC boat lake. Check out their site: **LINK** The amazing FPV Racing course was provided by the brilliant chaps at HoverSpeed RC, their support and passion for this hobby has helped so many, check out their website for more: **LINK** This flight was using the GensAce Tattu 1300mAh 75C 4s lipo, the performance is incredible and the consistent high discharge rate shows very little voltage sag during the whole flight, check out their website for awesome products: **LINK** This flight was recorded using the Runcam HD F2.8 camera, the quality of the image and reliability makes it a winner for racing and adventures, check out their site for more info: **LINK** Location: Leamington Hobby Centre, near Warwick, UK Conditions: Strong winds but sunny The thought of using these at a nudest beach lol Not sure who had more fun here Such a great chap, pictured here is also Mike Elliott Team photo while Banni UK shows his freestyle skills Awesome track setup by HoverSpeed RC, FPV Mecca Chasing DougC at sunset Chasing DougC at sunset Chasing DougC at sunset Chasing DougC at sunset Chasing DougC at sunset Chasing DougC at sunset Chasing DougC at sunset Chaos on the track Part 1 Chaos on the track Part 2 New HoverSpeed RC Racing Pylon being setup LHC and HoverSpeed RC Team photo Mike Brewer (Wheeler Dealer) helping to recover a Fossils Stuff Gravity 250 from a hedge Carnage in the pit lane The great BFPVRA chairman climbing a tree to recover a quad SN30 ESC decided to set fire to my quad on throttle up, it took a hard hit on the flight before causing this chaos
  12. Posted by David Ashby - RCME on 03/09/2015 12:04:15: Congratulations James. I spent some time at the FPV racing and was very impressed with the speed of the machines and the skills on display. Great to see this at the Nats. Thank you David, glad you had a good time and made the long trek over to the FPV Racing, it was a great day but next time I will bring a lawn mower with me for the track It was so great to see the public crowded round the FPV Feed screen and hearing them react to the pilots moves.
  13. Posted by Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator on 02/09/2015 21:50:31: Well Matt - you'll have to take that up with the UK Champion - ie the OP. I think he's earned the right to call them anything he wants to! Well done James - I was spectating at the semi-finals and the final itself - so I saw your victory! Excellent accurate flying - what is it they say "In order to finish first, first you have to finish!" And you proved that in spades. Many congratulations - hope you get to go to Hawaii! BEB Thank you so much BEB I can't say I had a pace any where the same as the other three pilots but after I heard the first one go down I slowed down to go steady and calm but once I heard all three were down then the nerves really took a beating lol It was such a great event only possible due to all the awesome pilots, organisers and spectators like yourself @KingKade Thank you always nice to see your comments @Matt Jones, I use the word Drones as this event had to fit in line with the 'World Drone Racing Championship' with (I think so far) 16 countries all running "Drone Nationals' to find the competitors for the grand final event in Hawaii. I think as long as the word 'Drone' is used on a positive post/thread then it can't do any harm but it would not of been my chosen term for quads
  14. Thank you very much Pete, its been a pleasure to share the fun with you and the forum
  15. The UK Drone Racing Nationals were held on the 30th August 2015 at RAF Barkston Heath Nr Grantham, Lincolnshire. The event is the first one like this held in the UK with the top three pilots qualifying for a chance at the World Drone Championship 2016 in Hawaii, USA. In true British style the wind was blowing strong and patchy rain but this did not stop the fun. The day was so good with highlights like having Mr Cleanflight himself (+Dominic Clifton) as my spotter in one of the Semi finals and of course getting 1st place at the end of the day. I would like to congratulate the three other pilots I had the honour to race against in the Final, all day they consistently showed amazing skills and jaw dropping next level speeds. Also all the other amazing pilots that competed on the day made this event one to remember. After hearing they were all down during the race I tried to stay calm and slow down just to finish the laps as I was physically shaking from the pressure and adrenaline. Huge thank you to FPVLeague.co.uk for recording this footage and more thanks goes to the commentary on the Live stream that this video takes its source from. Location: RAF Barkston Heath Nr Grantham, Lincolnshire, UK Conditions: Windy with rain
