  1. Great photos and well done gettinh all the refurbs done, with successful flying! I have the same P47, snorting Bull, it is one of my fabourites to fly, really docile and looks great in the air!
  2. Amazing! A great story behind your build! Priveleged to hear it. Hope you have a great summer flying the Snipe, looks fantastic.
  3. A great outlook to have! I had an old VW camper, uneconomical on petrol, drank it like a fish. But it didnt matter, I loved driving it. What mattered wasnt the miles per gallon that mattered, it was the smiles per gallon.
  4. Oh I didn't know that. Sad news indeed. These pilots and all the ground staff, ATA pilots may be gone but not forgotten.
  5. An amazing man to have survived the war, being shot down twice and returning to combat again. 101 years and the man looks fit and healthy!
  6. Flew for 1st time this year, windier than forecast, but it handled it very well and made for short landing rollouts!
  7. Thanks a lot Graham! Will look out for that when building.
  8. Superb finish to your Spit, well done! I have the same kit awaiting lazy builder to start here! But just out of curiosity, where did you settle for the new CofG.....was it much different to the one in the plans?
  9. Posted by Cliff Bastow on 05/09/2020 12:20:39: Just a quick update, Progress on the York is on hold at the moment as I am having to readdress some of my modeling due to Imminent redundancy and having to search for new employment at the age of 62! I am in the middle of selling off some of my lesser used models and equipment. One of our contingency plans calls for selling our house and downsizing somewhat to be mortgage free but this might mean no workshop! This is not where I wanted to be at this stage of my life but no doubt We will get through it. So nice to think that this is the thanks we get from our employer for all the extra work and overtime we put in during Covid to cover missing staff and extra workload. A choice made somewhere by some accountant to save a bit of money! Sorry to hear this. Disgusting behaviour of your employer, that's the thanks you get for your loyalty, experience and hard work. Goddam accountants, they know the cost of everything and the value of nothing. Hope you find somewhere better that appreciates it's employees and that you get to keep your workshop to keep creating your amazing models, the York looks fantastic!
  10. Get better soon Paul, hope you are feeling ok soon.
  11. Posted by David Ramsden on 12/07/2020 23:55:26: Well I guess this thread is drawing to a close now. It's been an education. I've learned a lot about lipos, charger use, and performance monitoring gadgets. And as a small bonus, I got my esc to apply its brake without any trouble at all. Once I had her (my new Kloudrider) trimmed to glide at minimum sink rate I even discovered that it's possible to slope soar without a slope(!). But that's another story... Thank you everyone! 12. Wow the zero is amazing! Weathering details are superb!
  13. Hi Geoff, There was not a link actually, at least not when I ordered it! I sent an email inquiry and a few days later the kit was ready, just have to pick it up tomorrow from the courier! Tina from Slec very kindly emailed me a few days after I had ordered to let me know the kit was cut and ready to send to me!
  14. Ordered and on the way already! Fantastic service from Slec! Cannot wait to start!!
