  1. Veron Sky Scooter with an OS10 up front and McGregor 1+1 R/C set. For some reason I used a bit of thin aircraft grade aluminium sheet to fashion a noseleg cum engine mount - worked well. Flew it with the Grimsby club for a couple of years, then moved on to a DB Tinker and a Gem 4 - one of the first low(ish) cost proportional radios.
  2. Glue a dummy ribe to one face and sand to the correct angle. Possibly less hassle thathan ungluing one of the end ribs.
  3. Logged straight into the Forum page - no problems. So far, sogood. still finding my way around.
  4. I leave it on, especially if I'm likely to be glueing more in the near future. However, after use and before putting the bottle down I point it in an upward direction away from me and the bench and give it a quick squeeze. This clears any liquid glue left in the dropper. Failing to do this can lead to a clogged up dropper, and you will either have to ream it out with a pin (if you have good eyesight) or cut a few mm off the end to get it to flow free again.
  5. I run an HP Officejet 4630. The cartridges come from the Ink Planet shop in town at about 1/3 the cost of HP ones. No problems with them. I tried their refilling service, which was even cheaper, but twice (in abut 8 years) the inks in the colour cartridge ran together and everything printed in a nice shade of mud - not good. Pattern cartridges are OK. Edited By Toni Reynaud on 28/01/2021 13:53:42
  6. Posted by Doctor Chinnery on 25/01/2021 08:32:09: As a long term member of the site approaching his 8th decade, with computer literacy at the John & Jane Readers stage, I'm looking forward to your planned upgrade/improvements with some trepidation. Can we Wrinklies be assured that the new site will still still be accessible and functional for us with old laptops and (particularly in my case) old iPads and similar tablets. Just a thought. Good thought. Santander upgraded their online banking app and it no longer worked on my wife's ipad or my old Samsung tablet. Had to buy another ipad! Also +1 for the Like button.
  7. I use an Orange DSM2/DSMX receiver type with built in gyro. It can be switched on and off in the air. Works a treat, very good and useful. Recommended.
  8. There is also the fact that we both put on weight over Christmas (I wonder why??) and now have to limit the intake of comfort foods while we try to get back to normal. We also try to observe a dry January. These two things on top of everything else don't help at all. I too find myself reluctant to get out into the workshop shed and make progress on repairs and builds. Roll on easing of restrictions.
  9. A highly dangerous virus is currently going around. It's called "Weekly Overload Recreational Killer" (WORK). If you come in contact with this WORK virus, you should immediately go to the nearest "Biological Anxiety Relief” (BAR) centre to take antidotes known as "Work Isolating Neutralizer Extract" (WINE) or "Radioactive Unwork Medicine" (RUM) or "Bothersome Employer Elimination Rebooter" (BEER) or "Vaccine Official Depression Killing Antigen" (VODKA).
  10. Thought of the day. A recent study has found that women who carry a little extra weight live longer then men who mention it! Edited By Toni Reynaud on 02/01/2021 11:13:22
  11. I was told many years ago to always mix half as much as you think you need and it will turn out to be twice as much as you actually need. Sounds like that's still true! Edited By Toni Reynaud on 01/01/2021 07:21:56
  12. Include me for this one please. I might even learn to fly a whirlybird!
  13. We are always interested in a build, especially one that contains a few mods from the original plan!
