  1. Michael Thanks. Have been googling for metric sizes and couldnt find (or more likely see) any. I will look on their site and order from them. Is the stringers the only item that is incorrect in the wood pack. May as well order everything at once if something else needed to save on postage. Johnnie
  2. BEB When are you going to get back to this one. Desperate to see the finish John
  3. You may need to open up the tx and change over the ratchet and the springs on the sticks
  4. I am beginning to wonder what does it mean to be able to fly a model airplane. With all due safety considerations does it mean simply being able to take off, keep it in the air and then land. In the simplest sense off course. There is a pre-occupation with the notion that you have to learn more. Don't get me wrong I am not saying that is a bad thing and there is a lot more to progress to if that is what you want from the hobby. If progression is to a model that does not have all these new technology gizmos then there is more to learn at that time. thinking back on learning to drive in the forces (way back in the dark ages) did the experience of having to double de-clutch really add anything to me being able to drive my automatic Audi Quattro or even all the new technology synchronised mesh gearboxes in cars over the last xxx years.   Edited By Johnnie on 30/08/2013 20:27:32
  5. Isnt thisjust the old vs new technology argument. When does new technology become old technologly. As model aircraft flying has progressed from chucking a paper airplane to highly sophisticated computer controlled shrink wrapped foam models so has the technology. And as each advance comes allong there will be those that wont embrace it and use it for what it is. In the final analysis its a hobby and whatever way people get their enjoyment out of the hobby is fine by me as long as its done safely. I dont think there is a right and wrong way - just a different way! Oh I am sure some ways are better than others - but for every opinion on a particulay way there will be plenty who have a different opinion about it.
  6. Anybody know what wheels Tony Nijhuis used in the original build. Johnnie
  7. BEB I am following your build blog with great interest. Just happenning at the right time for me. Have you identified which wheels (front & Back) that you are going to use in your build. Johnnie
  8. Thanks Alan. So what width of wheel should I be looking for. No problem to reduce the well rib but would want to keep that to a minimum. ~Would 30mm be OK along with the leg which is about 10mm diameter. Would this still leave enough rib or do I need to look for something thinner.
  9. Can anybody tell me what size of wheels they have used in this project. I know they are 90mm but what thickness can you fit into the wings with the retracts. Thanks in advance.
  10. ErnieI meant to ask.  Is there anything special about these Acrylics.  Would any acrylic do if you have a large area to cover for instance as you say a 6ft wing - using a regular touch up spray gun for instance.  Johnnie
  11. ErnieThanks for that I will have a look at Everything Airbrush.  I already have a compressor and am going to add an additional regulator and drier on the line. Johnnie
  12. Erniedo you use any particular brand of acrylic paint and where is the best place to buy it.Johnnie
