  1. Thanks everyone .You have all been a great help.It is quite clear what has to be done. The club rule will be enforcing the rule If those who want to change the rule will either except the club rule or leave the club.Of course the other option is to stand for a committee position but like most clubs they quick to moan but will not want the hassle of going on the committe and doing something to help the club instead they just think of them self and no one else
  2. Think that is the route we will have to go down.Trying to please everyone does not work .I have emailed every members saying if we fly on kart racing days we will lose the flying field Most member now realise.that now and are coming round that it is better to lose 10 weekends a year then 52 weekends a year A few member are still insisting they want to fly on kart racing weekends but they will be told to find a different club to fly at
  3. Have a reply from the BMFA and Andy was a great help .It is going to be sorted now .The Flying Club Committee are on safety grounds going to enforce no flying on Kart racing days and thosee members that do not like that will be told maybe they should find a different club to fly at We might lose a few members but at least we will still have a flying club
  4. We will lose The Kart Club have said if we fly over the race track while they are racing. They will contact the farmer who owns our field and the farmer has already said if that happens .We are history .So these selfish members are going to lose us the field .It is a no win situation for the committee
  5. I think Freewing have discontinued the Venom now but you may still be able to get a limited number of spares
  6. Unfortunately when we take off or land we have to fly very if not over the kart track. To me it is ridiculous to fly.So I have made a personal choice not to fly when the karts are racing..Think I will just come off the committee and let them get on with it .That way I know I know I am safe .If we still have a flying field this time next year is now down to the members who want to fly when the karts are racing.!!!!!!
  7. Yep due to a few selfish members who just want fly regardless. We could end up with no flying field 😩
  8. Taken all your advice and now contacted the BMFA about this . Waiting on the BMFA reply
  9. Any legal minds out there can help with a bit of a concern in our club We fly of an old World War 2 Airfield. We share it with a go kart club who race at the other end of the Airfield At the moment the committee have inforced a no fly policy on the days the karts are racing has a safety measure Now the members of the club want overrule the committee and fly on the days the karts race.I think this madness .If a model was for any reason was to lose control and hit either a marshal or god forbid an actual kart while it was racing and cause a serious accident and the kart club was to take legal action against the model flying club .Would the committee members be liable and face criminal action
  10. I am flying around on under a third throttle .Just wondered if a bigger prop would help
  11. Have a Seagull Bower Flybaby I have a Laser 80 up front but find this is a bit to powerfull with the 14x6 prop on .If I put a 15x6 prop on the the Laser 80 will the 15x6 prop tone it down a bit or would it make it worse ???
  12. I totally agree with you Paul .Nothing better then the sound and smell of nitro .Going to stick my Laser 80 in the model
  13. After reading the latest thread about is IC engine dying out .Wonder if I should go electric. Ahhhh !!!!! no I can not I hope and think ic will be around a bit longer 🤞
  14. The model I am building requires a 15cc engine is that around the Laser 80 size ?
  15. Did not realise Leeds Models where doing the spares Thanks I give them a ring in the morning
  16. Typical .Never had any problems with my Laser Engines. Now Laser are no more .Flew my Wots Wot today with a Laser 80 and the prop came off in mid flight .Loosing the prop and washer .Anyone now what size nut and what thread do I need for the Laser 80 ???.I am sure it is a standard nut but need to know what size and thread it is ,so I know what to look for
  17. Oh well that is life. Have to buy Saito engines now .😩

    DX8 v NX8 ?

I have trusted DX8 Gen 2 transmitter Everyone in our club has upgraded their DX8 for the new NX8 transmitter .Everyone in our club keeps telling me to upgrade my DX8 for a NX8 and not to be so tight .My answer is there is nothing wrong with my DX8 so why should I fork out £350 for a NX8 .I am told the NX8 is far better and I would find it a lot better then the DX8.I can not find anything on the NX8 that my DX8 will not do .So am I missing something here.I find a lot of people upgrade to the NX8 because it was new and people must have the "newest transmitter or am I wrong and it is worth upgrading my DX8 to a new NX8. Be interesting to see what people think on this.Is it worth upgrading to a NX8 just to have the newest transmitter ?
  21. Anyone used the GT Power X2 Pro. Thinking of buying one Just need to know if it is OK .For £124 need to be sure it is a good charger

  23. Have a Futaba 10J Transmitter and have always used the Futaba R3008SB receivers in my models .I am about to change 3 models over from Spektrum to the Futaba 10 J .So I need 3 Futaba receivers to do this Was going to buy 3 R3008SB but I do not use telemetry so was thinking of getting 3 R2008 receivers. Anyone tell what is the difference between the 3008 and the 2008 .I do not use telemetry It is just that the 2008 are a bit cheaper I
