  1. danny as I approached the wire bending I became "chicken" and built a couple of free flight models!! I have bent nearly all of the 12 and 10swg bits but please tell me how to get those acute bends in the cabane joiners? Have I missed a trick and they are thinner wire. Someone please help before I start a different model Jim A
  2. Sorry to bother you again Andy. My question this time cocerns the outer L.E. of the aireleon, Is it rounded athank you again Jim
  3. SWorry I have not thanked you earlier for your reply about engine mounting, so a belated thank you. Somewhere I have seen a photograph of a laser mounted in the Fury but the side ply pieces are cut away more than ours will be. Anyway I am on wings now and have already experienced the c.s. difficuties that others have talked about. At first I thought my late start was a real pain, but now I am reading others threads it is very helpful. Thank you one and all! Jim
  4. Hi Colin I should have started sooner!! You will be telling us how it flies and I will be nearly thinking about covering!! I had not heard of or used the method of showing a right wing plan from a left using meths spirit. I tried it and got a super reproduction that only lasted as long as the drawing was wet!! Please, what did I do wrong? Regards Jim
  5. Thanks Danny that is what I have done, but the carb needles are in the way of the bearers. It should be possible to bolt the plate to the underside of the bearers but the will bring the thrust line down . I've not fitted the cowl yet so I'm not sure........
  6. Hi Andy, great work and you are way ahead of me (and I guess Most of us!) I have just discovered that my Laser 80 is going to be difficult to fit. In one of your posts you are holding a laser 70 inverted and it looks as tho' you are going to fit the engine on the bottom of the bearers, if so how will you get the corect thrust line for the prop? Or am missing something such as you realised this would be a problem before fitting the bearers? Regards Jim
  7. Happy New Year Jose You really are forging ahead. Must be nearest to covering? Regards Jim A
  8. Hi all Class Mates, Quite large package arrived Friday from Sarik and this AM i completed the tailplane & elevators. I have never before built a T.P. with so many parts!! Next I will go for the fuselage. Normally I build the wings first as I find them the least interesting bit, all those wing ribs to cut out, Regards Jim Andrews
  9. To all Class members There has been quite a discushion concerning "what engine". I just happen to have both an ASP 80 and an OS !20. Both four strokes and new in box. Can some tell me if one or the other would be suitable for my Fury, please? Regards Jim Andrews
  10. So far Corunna servos arrived this am, but nothing else. Laser engs. web said they had one 80 in stock so immediately tried to buy it but probably too late as i have heard nothing from them. Ernie I would be grateful for the contact address with your etchers. Still waiting for a "huge" parcel fron Sarick, but it is early days Jim
  11. Thank you SW. If I had not met up with the "class" I would have powered my Fury with either a Merco 61 or a Webra Blackhead!! A Laser 80 has a lot going for it, they are available and my winter build would have been a Mistle Thrush for which the Laser 80 is reccomended. Now I am in a dither but think I will go with you! Regards Jim
  12. Reading all the posts I missed I see that at one time builders declared the power type they intend using, in my case that will be i/c. Anyone got a Laser 120 surplus to requirements, please? Jim
  13. Hi Danny I.m not sure what a PM is!! When I know you better I'll tell you how old I am, I saw a while ago a notification about the Fury build and immediately sent for the plans expecting there would be a series of articles in RCM&E starting in November, As there wasn't I emailed someone who should have known but he told me you didn't get enough starters and the idea fell through. Luckily in this month's RCME there is a mention of the thread. I have spent a pleasant and informative afternoon reading all the posts.. Todfay I have ordered all the bits from Sarik. I would be grateful if I may join the "class" Regards, Jim Andrews
