  1. Bought that exact one expecting it to be straight. The hard case will not close with the cranked one in place. The problem being caused or perhaps at least compounded by having a DJT module in the back of the tx. The soft case wll zip up but resembles a small marquee!
  2. Neil you an absolute star. Thank you so much. PM sent.
  3. Anybody out there in radio land got one of the old type balance bars that they are never going use? Like this one It apparently the early type. The later cranked type makes it impossible to close the case with it in the correct position.
  4. Been out with the Alpina first thing this morning. Sunrise was a little underwhelming at Whitesheet. Flying was nice though.
  5. In fairness that is properly expert and who amongst us is making that claim, not me for sure, even with 47 years of experience.
  6. Malcom Gladwell recons it takes 10,000 hours to get really good at something. (10,000x60)/8=? Anyway you get the picture.
  7. Another alternative might be the new character scale stuff from Stan at Phoenix Model Products. https://www.phoenixmp.com/acatalog/Character-Scale.html There is a 109 and a P51 and he has a Spit just finished which should be available soon. Designed as electric around a 2200 3S, very stand off and squint scale but they catch the character nicely.
  8. In slope soaring there is the maxim: There is no such thing as too much wind just the wrong model. I would caveat that slightly as it does get difficult to stand up at about 60 mph.
  9. May the Force be with you.
  10. Few can lay claim to the iconic status that the Mk1 Alpina righty enjoys. Here is mine on the Menez Hom.
  11. Roll and yank, you will flying F3f if you keep that up! Now that isn’t flown 3 mistakes high.
  12. On the up side, you couldn’t take off with the wrong model memory selected.
  13. Should be. Should just be a matter of getting the back off and swapping the spring for the ratchet. Simple screwdriver job.
  14. That was exactly the problem. Holding the bind button down until the receiver had bound was what I was doing. Normally not a problem, until UNI comes along. Set the receiver to bind and release the button prior to setting the tx to bind. Bind to each tx like this and the rx swapped between txs very quickly with no problem.
  15. The speed and depth of the support for the UNI firmware is impressive and much appreciated.
  16. Reflashed from sd card. Reactivated. Same problem. It won’t remind to other tx. Binding and rebinding done at about 3 meters distance. Only thing left is to down load a new cut of the firmware maybe?
  17. Doesn’t matter which tx is a or b. Bind to a. Then bind to b. Then try and bind back to a and it won’t. Doesn’t matter which tx is which a or b. It will not bind back to the other as expected in uni.
  18. Just about a meter away. Similar distance to the original bind process.
  19. I think the green led flashes momentarily within a second or two of powering up the rx. But it then reverts to a flashing red.
  20. V2EU on the tx. 57 on the X6R rx. Other tx on and binding mode. Rx on. Red flashing light, no bind.
  21. There are things that UNI will do that are useful. The full list of features is not hard to find. I suppose the the question is whether you are aware of any short comings in the firmware you are using? Fine tuning the rx to the tx is a good feature but works in the background. Channel mapping might be useful. The ability to customise outputs to suit digital or analogue servos.
  22. I got my activation code from Aloft but I don't suppose that makes any difference?
  23. Rx sits with red light flashing but does not rebind to other tx. It remains bound to the first tx. The two txs are clones of one another in that the sd cards are copies of each other and the model info has been synced via companion. Not sure this is relevant as the rx is looking for the id of the rf section.
