  1. Having bound to both txs, followed above procedure
  2. I have got my X6R uni activated. Follow the instructions but dual bind will not work. Two X9D+ on V2 lbt. Rx will bind to both txs but will not swap from one to the other. Rx remains bound to first tx. Any ideas?
  3. Any idea how long an activation code takes to come from T9. Sent one on Wednesday first thing, nothing back yet.
  4. You can get hold of Mike via the BARCS forum. He is rcsoar.
  5. Taranis X9D+ with OTX 2.3.15 and ACCST V2. It is the binding bit I am getting wrong. To recap: Flash Rx, unplug from Tx Bind Run ACTIVATE. LUA email T9 the code Run Lua again and insert activation code received from T9 Rebind if necessary. Thanks for the quick response Mike.
  6. I have a problem activating UNI firmware. Firmware seems to flash to the rx fine. When I run the activation script it returns a code of 888888. I have tried two rxs, both return a code of 888888. Rxs are X6R flashing with x8r_rom57sm.frk. Activate script is filed with the firmware on the sd card in FIRMWARE/ACCST UNI/ It also generates a file called activate.luac Anybody able to shed any light?
  7. If you are happy buying second hand, how about a Taranis? I recently picked up one at £80 with hall sticks and an eneloop battery and hard case. I then couldn't resist another at £45 with hall sticks and a life battery. Rxs are readily available and relatively cheap. The ACCST protocol is proven reliable. And you have the fun of sticking your head down the OpenTx rabbit warren, great fun. And will never likely have a model that the Taranis will not be able to fly.
  8. Sooner or later you will have the rate set wrong. Use a bit of expo and you still have full movement available when you need it but with soft centres like a decent box of chocolates. Anything that lightens the workload while you are flying is good. That's where modern computer txs come into there own.
  9. Things always change otherwise we would still all be flying single channel with a button and sewn hinges. Embrace the change you like, ignore the change you don't.
  10. It is definitely not a Virage, unless it has been very heavily modified.
  11. It's not Foss or one of Stans @ Phoenix MP. Looking at the amount of curvature on the wing seat the wing would have been close to symmetrical. An aerobatic model rather than a soarer perhaps?
  12. The wheels would just be going twice as fast as normal at take off.
  13. The first lesson is to not allow any part of you near a live prop. I have never seen that end well regardless of motor size.
  14. Do you flash and activate 54 and then (say for an X8R) flash the later 57 upgrade or can I flash straight to 57 and activate it?
  15. Navy Helicopter pilots, breed apart.
  16. Whilst the actual flying is quite impressive the decision to try and do it is rather less so!
  17. This is no problem. Just take care not to provide an analogue servo with 9 milisecond update rate from the rx.
  18. Totally agree. Ebay do not force anybody to pay more than they want to.
  19. Preamble: I recently acquired via BMFA classifieds a rather nice Taranis X9D+. The exact spec I wanted with the hall gimbals and an eneloop battery. I paid the asking price which I thought was reasonable. I then set about acquiring some receivers to go with it. I have bough a few through BMFA at what I thought was a fair price. I have also bought a few though ebay. Most of what I have bid on I have lost as the price has soared. This week two X8R receivers came up. One on EBay, one on BMFA. The BMFA one was offered at what I thought was a fair £20 post paid. I managed to contact the vendor, no easy task when the messenger system was not working on BMFA classifieds, it is amazing what you can find out off tinterweb. The deal was done and it is in the post. The EBay auction for the other one finished last night and the final price was £31 + a not unreasonable £3.50 for p and p. £34.50 in total. A brand new X8R from the UK FrSky dealer is £34.54. There is postage to add. I don't have an issue with using second hand gear, after all pretty much all the aeroplanes I fly are second hand or even sixth or seventh hand. I don't have an issue with people charging what they want to, or people paying what they want to. But surely the point of buying second hand is to save money. After all few of us have infinately deep pockets or infinately long arms.
  20. Stability should be easy enough. FrSky do the S6R and S8R. If you want spekky compatibility maybe a stabilised Lemonrx job will do it. As for rth I would forget it. It is hundreds of times more likely to crash than fly away no matter who is flying it. If your flying is not up to it you need more reasoning/practice not more stabilisation. I know what you mean about about the Warthog though, kind of beautifully ugly.
