  1. This is all fascinating stuff and very interesting. How much weight does the brown paper finish add compared to Covering film or tissue/dope? I'm building a Tony Nijhuis mini jet (Hunter) and considering my finishing options.
  2. Thanks guys. I notice that CHEP offer a free pickup service but I doubt they’ll turn up for my one. If only I still had my allotment it would “vanish”
  3. I've had a load of tiles delivered for a bathroom project, and they arrived on a blue pallet. I am now informed by my local recycling centre that they don't take blue ones, only natural wood ones. I could try taking it back to the supplier but it won't fit in my car. Has anyone had one of these, and how did you dispose of it?
  4. I’ve just received a package of two Turnigy Nano Tech 2200 4S which I ordered on 12th September from Hobbyking’s EU warehouse. They cost £33.42 plus £4.56 shipping and handling, and when delivered there were no further charges. So, a week’s delivery and no Customs charges on this value of item bears out what others have said.
  5. I am doing a feasibility study on building a Bird of Time (starts with….I’m gonna need a bigger building board…..) and downloaded plans for a Mk 4 version from Outerzone, and a 4 servo wing from RCGroups. I tried tiling and printing the pdfs on my home printer, with awful results – they wouldn’t print square. I mentioned this to my wife who buys dressmaking patterns online and also has problems printing them. She said she had tried a company she found online and they had done a good job printing her patterns, so I gave them a try. After some email correspondence I sent them pdfs of what I wanted, and asked them to print two copies of each (one for reference and one to cut up) as well as a reverse print of the 4 servo wing which had only been published as one half wing. I placed the order on Friday (just before the Bank Holiday weekend) and they arrived this morning (Tuesday after BH Monday). I am very impressed by the quality of the paper and the printing, and even more impressed by the fact that I have received such a large quantity of paper (12 sheets in all, some 2A0 size) for the price of £23.32 including postage! The only quibble some might have is that they are folded not rolled, but I guess that keeps the cost down. The company I used was CLC Essex, 8 Barrie Pavement, Wickford, Essex SS12 9DR, email Louise Cumbers at [email protected] and I have no connection them other than as a customer.
  6. Airtek, RCWorld, SLEC and Wheelspin have all been exceptionally quick at delivering to me,
  7. I bit the bullet and bought one about a year ago as I was making Miss Deeds from the free plan, which specifies 8 swg for the undercarriage legs and I had no idea how I was going to bend them, This gadget did the trick for me, even though I only screwed it to a sheet of Contiboard,
  8. Hi - got one for Christmas. I agree about the pilot so here.s my solution, although my granddaughter was a bit upset when she found the remains in the bin!
