  1. It is quite common to get confidence in a motor running leaving an high idle speed Kim, but even at 3000rpm the model can fly past. You are right to suspect the idle as 2500rpm - 3000rpm is not so different on the ear. Personally I get mine and the lads motors down between 2200rpm and 2500rpm for apparent in air braking and landing.
  2. You have to set " Ground in View " Toto " on your sim 1 hour is too long Do 10 minute slots like at the field During a day, do 3 or 4 slots, People have totally learned to fly using flight sims. On or before 10 hours, you will be a flyer
  3. Google ESC Timing Toto If it sounds like a gearbox crunching, the ESC to motor timing isn't set right
  4. Plinky, on ebay, breaks down Spekrum for spares, try him https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?item=175440446623&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.m3561.l2562&_ssn=plinky696 He has been breaking down a DX9
  5. You are right Toto, no point in flying aimlessly on the SIM Set it to " Ground in view " That is how we fly outdoors with ground in view. A chap came to my place and only had sim flying experience prior, and he could fly straight off
  6. Straighten the carb up Toto, if you have not already done so. So the carb throttle arm is at the best straight alignment to the servo push rod.
  7. Have a look at Antex Soldering Irons Graham.
  8. Am late to the party guys But each Volantex gyro is programmed for each style of model they fit them too So you are right Pufferman to alter servo placement and orientation to fit that receiver No adjustment is provided by the Tx as you say
  9. Softer tyre definately. Hard foam tyres, often provided by the manufacturer, save weight but are difficult to land on tarmac. Low bounce, rubber tyres are heavier and more expensive but do provide " low bounce "
  10. Yes there is Andy. I will find photos. The bearing version clearly has a bearing shape in the housing behind the prop Where a non bearing, the casing tapers behind the prop, clearly unable to carry a bearing inside.
  11. Try from this YouTube David http://rcdiy.ca/sxr-setup-s6r-s8r/
  12. Not to state the obvious Frank, but easily missed You hold the AR8010T bind button before powering up the Rx The introduce the Tx bind.
  13. Take the rocker covers off, with a view to oiling the whole lot after inspection. Check for broken valve springs, I use a bit of wooden dowel to push each up and down Watch carefully for springs moving. Check tappets have a gap Oil up afterwards
  14. Rapid beeping is a high Throttle warning There to protect you at switch on And the motor refuses to work. Check if throttle has become reversed and Check motor wires and soldering
  15. Not to muddy the water Ken, but my set up of Windows 10, Spektrum Tx and Phoenix runs simply by Jack plug to USB cable Some quotes here
  16. Futaba Chart, last line, 2008SB compatible.
  17. I do, and remember, as a child, getting a Chemistry Set for Christmas or Birthday, full of toxic substances.
  18. All these years for sports size 5ft - 6ft span, approx 10" chord, or other size close by have deducted 2" from the chord, so 8" bands. I have found 6 bands to be safest amount
  19. Connection Error’ Nick. Is most definately not you pack it is your leads or plug connection broken or bad connection inside check your leads or plug your charger is doing a perfect job of telling you Connection Error’
  20. Oh flip Manish, I don't know if I can explain this, but will try, as you remember how we did this before computer radio. Hopefully, you can see down the barrel of the carb, and you can see the servo arm. Now, try to use the outer hole of the throttle arm, and an outer or next 1 hole in of the servo arm. Open your barrel to half way, and turn your servo arm to centre, and make sure your pushrod fits from throttle arm outer to at least 2nd hole from outer of your servo. All being well, you are mechanically about the middle with both. With the Tx switched off, put your throttle stick to the middle which is upright to the sky. Now be prepared to observe as you switch the Tx on. There should be very little difference between switching between the two. Now observe the barrel is just fully open at full stick and Slightly open at closed stick. Use your end points to achieve correct barrel position high and tickover. Now your throttle cut should do its job, and you can check on your Tx monitor too.
  21. I think think both may have been bumped through hanger ( by Paul ) Be extra careful moving models Paul Casual bumps on surfaces destroy servo gears very easily. Test servos for full throws carefully as usually teeth are missing from ( bumped ) gears
  22. Belt and double braces Toto Totally unnecessary You can fast charge the odd low Tx battery as it is a rare occurrence going to the field with a flat transmitter. All eventualities would be 2 or everything we own Complicating things doubles problems and failures too
