  1. HI everyone, just returning to hobby after about 27 years away, ( boy have things changed ?) anyway i used to fly at the croydon airport public flying field, does anyone know if flying is still allowed there?
  2. Hi all, need to make my first vac formed canopy for a 27% scale pitts model 12. My question is what thickness of lexan i should be using for this size canopy and also are there any recommended suppliers ? cheers.
  3. That's great, thanks Mike, just spoke to them, going to get them done tomorrow.
  4. Thanks for that, unfortunately the email link doesn't seem to be working, will try again later.
  5. Thanks Jon, Iv'e had a quick look on line and most local printers seem to have a max size of A0, will have to have a ring around. The la7 is indeed a monster, iv'e always loved the look of it luckily enough i have plenty of space to build it, all that's missing is the funds
  6. Hi all, I have the plans for the David p Anderson 1/4 scale La7 in pdf file format. Does anyone know where i can get large plans like this printed? I am in the north Kent area so somewhere local ish would be great . Thanks. Dave.
  7. HI all, i have some plans in pdf format that i want printed off, does anyone know of a print company i could use in the north Kent area ?
  8. Thanks Steve I used them for the mild steel for my bbq last summer didn't think to look at them for small stuff, doh!!
  9. Hi all, just embaking on my first scratch build for over 25 years and struggling to find suppliers of ally tube flat dural bar etc, any help would be greatly appreciated 😊
  10. Thanks guys for all the comments and encouragement,im itching to get flying again now, i have got myself a nice shiny 2.4 ghz computer radio and trying to decide what would be agood model to get me back flying, im intending to jump straight back in with something aerobatic but will start off with low rates and see how it goes. I am amazed at the amount of artf and rtf models now as they were relatively rare when i was flying also electrics were quite basic and to be honest a little bit rubbish, but they look pretty good now. The thing i am happy about is the petrol engines, im a bit ocd about anything sticky so glow fuel used to drive me insane, i do prefere to build my own models and seeing as I'm into golden age racers which dont seem too common i rtf stuff so I guess it will be plans and balsa bashing for me 😊 and that suits me fine. Although i did see a rather sexy rtf biplane for a 62cc petrol engine that for some reason ikeep looking at, mmmmmmmmm............. Edited By Pete B - Moderator on 28/04/2016 21:09:50
  11. Hi everyone, i recently decided to get back into model flying after 25 plus years away, i used to fly at the croydon airport site and was wondering if it is still a public flying site as it would be my prefered place to fly. Also has anyone else come back after a long time away, and if so is the actual flying side a bit like riding a bike, or am i going to have to learn all over again?I' After looking at a few mags i realise that things have changed a lot so it looks like a steep leaning curve ahead either way, so would be very grateful of any help and advice, cheers, Dave.
