    LUOBO V2

Hi Rich, the Luobo seems to fly very well but it is being flown by an experienced pilot. Keeping my models within my not so good eyesight has always been a problem for me so I tend to build slow flying models that fly close to me. The Luobo does seem to slow down quite nicely so may still be worth considering as my first autogyro. Thanks to you and Ken for answering my posts. I have just finished my foamy Kwirl and hope to try it as soon as I get a calm day. John

    LUOBO V2

Ken,you mention Tom Wrights Cranefly which I was interested in nearly 7 years ago. When Tom posted his Cranefly in 2013 I contacted him for information which he was only too keen to offer. He even invited me over to his house to let me try out one of his own cranefly,s but I never got around to going before he passed away. As a complete autogyro beginner would it be easier for me to be looking at a single function head like Toms Cranefly to learn on. Thanks John

    LUOBO V2

I normally build and fly scratchbuilt foam rc planes but feel like a change. I have seen on Banggoods web site a small autogyro kit called Luobo V2 dual operation autogyro kit. My only past experience with autogyro,s was building Al Foots twin rotor Twirl a good few years ago but it seemed more like a rotor assisted plane than a real autogyro.I have to say though that it did fly well. Anyway I am really looking for some advice from people that have built and flown the Luobo and is it suitable for a novice autogyro pilot. Thanks John
  4. Thanks Phil 9 and Mowerman for your suggestions ,I will check them out. Having built a couple of kits from west wings a good number of years ago I must say that the quality of them was very good. I do like the look of their Fournier R4 which they list as a powered glider . John
  5. I had been building and flying all sorts of scratch built foamies for over 10 years but 4 years ago I just lost interest and packed up flying. About 15 years ago I bought a Easy Pigeon ARF glider with the idea I might be able to teach myself to fly but I could never build up enough courage to give it a try so it was left in the loft until I had learnt not to crash so often. Then I got into scratch built foamy planes which being cheap to build and expendable actually got me flying. This was not a quick learning curve and it took the best part of a year and probably a dozen planes before I got the hang of what I was doing. Well I turned 65 this year and now retired with lots of free time I remembered I had my EP in the loft and thought I would give it a try out. First job was to replace the heavy can brushed motor with a much lighter Brushless outrunner. I also did away with the huge and heavy nicad pack and used a 3 cell lipo . This has saved over 1 pound in weight over the original. I have now flown it 4 times and also bought a used Orion "E" glider which has also been converted to brushless . I am having a great time just floating around when the wind id being friendly and now feel that as these two gliders are RET I really would like to build an aileron glider.Nothing too sporty just a mild 2 metre wing floater so I am looking for some suggestions from you lads on here of what you would recommend .It has to be a woody as I have had my share of foamy planes and I do like to build. It,s great to be back flying with the birds but these gliders fly a lot higher than my old foamy 3D,s so it is testing my old eyes far more than before. All the best John
  6. I have recently bought an old brushed Orion E which I have converted to brushless and lipo. Having not flown for over 3 years I felt like starting out again with something a bit gentler than my normal foamy 3D profiles. I must say that after 6 flights the Orion seems to be pretty much dialed in now and have I started to enjoy the relaxing flight that this small glider gives me. I run a Keda 1450Kv out runner motor and a 3 cell 800 Mah lipo. I also have an Easy Pigeon that is also running a brushless set-up but have yet to try it out. John
