Things are starting to come together and it's going to be BIG, BOLD and BRITISH so make sure you book it into your diary. IC flying from 10:00 - 17:00, electric anytime (night flying anyone?) £10 per day to fly. Camping available. Pilot's Cafe open for breakfasts and refreshments. SLEC have already started the trade presence ball rolling. -
Warbirds Replicas Hawker Tempest V -Mass Build 2024(part two) .
Ron Gray replied to RICHARD WILLS's topic in Warbird kits
Oh yes, looking rather good now Richard. -
Good luck with getting your NGH down below 82db! having owned a couple (now sold on) I found them to be noisy even with aftermarket silencers fitted, dirty and boy did they vibrate. Over the last couple of years I have sold off all of my petrol engines as they were all just too noisy with the exception of my remaining Laser GA 30 which I will keep! Stinger engines are extremely noisy, more so than DLEs! Regarding Laser engines running the low oil fuel are very clean and on average I would say that mine are no messier than the petrol engines I used to run but they are the newer Lasers. I do have 2 or 3 older ones running on standard fuel and they are certainly a bit messier but I'm OK with that as it means I can fly around with a model that sounds so good!

Laser engine, how do you tell what size they are?
Ron Gray replied to martin collins 1's topic in All Things Model Flying
That would be a first for Paul 🤣 -
If you have to glue it then Gorilla Glue white pva, it has quite a quick initial set and dries clear.

Ideally, imo, screwed on after covering.

Brand new landing gear for 13 year old P51 Mustang.
Ron Gray replied to aidan mcatamney's topic in All Things Model Flying
? Please refer back to my previous post: 'Regarding the CG, it’s correct when the model flies well and you’re not fighting it, irrespective of the actual measurement back from the LE.' Now if that is the same hymn sheet then good. -

Well as long as you’re happy then that is that matters. -

But do they? I have seen first hand, pilots, from more than one club, who have been flying for years and religiously stick to the instructions for both C of G and control surface throws. Trying to persuade them to try altering these can be hard work and I think that is what Jon is attempting to put across. -

Despite the awful look (imo) I would be more concerned about landing and the wheels being pushed back through the wing as at those angles there will be very little, or no, give in the legs. Regarding the CG, it’s correct when the model flies well and you’re not fighting it, irrespective of the actual measurement back from the LE. -

Warbird Replicas FW190 newbie build (or possibly some wellingtons)

Nice vid! -
I bought my last lot of 10 Type F from RC Japan a couple of weeks ago, £8 each, delivered. And yes they are genuine OS.

I can take no credit for the design or the build but I can attest to the fact that the rubber bands do a very good job of keeping the spoilers closed and it requires quite a bit of force to get them open!
-
Ah, you should really put them in on edge not flat! Like this:

Better still Bas, here are some photos of the actual model, the construction of which differs from that shown on the plans but is a lot simpler. The hinges are tape on the top surface.
