  1. Not unique to the car, Michelin Pilot Sport Ev 255/45R20 105WXL
  2. I did think about putting some flexible super glue on it and I could also use the glop Hyundai provide to seal it. Either way it's not a 'proper' fix.
  3. Not scuff marks, they are the chalk marks put on by the tyre shop. Plenty of hedges around here but not aware of going close to anything last week, but then I am an old git so memory could be somewhat below par.
  4. Not so much electric cars in general but specifically mine. I had a flat tyre yesterday, and I mean no pressure in it! I had a notifaction about a week ago about low pressure on one tyre so pumped it up and it had been fine, until yesterday. anyway I took it into the local tyre 'shop' and they found the problem but as it's in the sidewall it can't be repaired and they couldn't get hold of the tyre as their wholesaler doesn't supply them. I trawl on the 'net brought some up and all for roughly the same price, I'm glad I was sitting down, £280! Now here's the thing, is this a puncture caused through general use or some smartarse with a pin? IMG_8528.MOV
  5. I think the problem was to do with an over zealous use of the hot air gun to dry the paint, it seemed to make the mask adhesive more adhesive! But I agree that pre sticking it to something first would be a good idea.
  6. My one is green canvas and has wing mirrors plus a horn for when shopping at Lidl. However mine hasn't got the fancy whitewall tyres hence why I bought the last pair of plain black ones from Amazon. TBH I had already nicked the wheels off the cart hence why I had to buy replacements before I went out shopping again. Anyway I think I'm due an upgrade soon so have been mulling over this baby I am rather taken with the front castor (or is that now frowned upon because they may leave a brown sticky mess?) wheels as they may help when negotiating the tight bends in the vegetable aisle and will allow a tight turn in at the cashier desks (when one becomes vacant I can get in there before the other old gits).
  7. Wheels were from Amazon Richard. I actually think we need some more watering cans as the ones we've got are now full.
  8. So all assembled But I decided to modify it to have a nose support And this is the final dolly frame ready to try out on Sunday. All of the foam supports are removable and the brackets movable so it could be used for smaller models too.
  9. Maybe a new topic is needed, 'Show us your Dollys' Sketch idea Designed in Fusion 360 Being printed Parts ready Loosely assembled without the wheels
  10. This from last weekend, having a blast with the Hellcat
  11. Thanks for the pictures and explanation John, and also your kind words! Regarding the motor, mine is an Overlander 3548 900Kv and has more than enough power. The CG is 70mm back from F2 (LE) and I would suggest going with that for your first flights. I had to add about 270g of lead to get to that CG but will be removing 2/3rds of it for the next flight (once I have fixed the broken engine former / plate) to see how it performs with a more reward CG, at the moment whilst it is very planted and vice free, when inverted I'm having to input too much down elevator plus it's very difficult to get it to spin without forcing it into one (why do I want to spin anyway????!!!)
  12. Well I need to make a new dolly ASAP, up at the field at the moment, first flight this morning the FW fell out of the dolly breaking the prop on the tarmac. But much worse is that the ply engine former has cracked and there isn’t a lot of room to replace it so I may have to use some carbon tow and resin to repair it. Bearing in mind that it wasn’t a heavy ‘crash’ maybe a thicker former for new builds?
  13. It is so well behaved, straight out of the box and no trimming. What I like best are the non scale Reno racer type pylon turns about 30’ off the deck! I’m going to take some nose weight out today as, whilst it flies really well as it is, all of the CG tests I’ve done indicate that it’s nose heavy. Removing some of that lead may also help with the dolly take offs.
  14. Now, here’s a thought, the gutter type with a bungee attached to the front of the trolley. I’ve got some spare squareline gutter…………………….
  15. My dolly was originally built to launch delta wings both EDF and pusher but mainly the latter as I have some potential bacon slicers powered by 6s and there is no way anyone, including me, will go anywhere near them for launching. Hence why I said that I think the problem is one of weight. A new one has been designed!
  16. Thanks guys for all your responses, I was going to close the voting yesterday but decide to let it run on a bit. Anyway it is now CLOSED. The results are in and after final verification the verdict is that the Mystic will be the subject of the next Vlog and it should hopefully start tomorrow if I can finish off my gardening chores in time!
  17. 6” front, 5” rear all independent axles on mine Eric. For that last vid I had freed and oiled the axles so they were all free running, I think the dolly is too heavy! So I can make a new, lighter dolly or add some power to this one 😲 The other thing I had thought about doing was change the prop from the 12 x 8 to a 12 x 6, the x 8 gives it plenty of thrust (2x its weight) but the lower pitch should accelerate quicker?
  18. After the fog lifted it turned into a lovely day and allowed me to have several flights with the FW, dolly needs some work though!
  19. I do have a soft spot for the Rascal due to how much enjoyment I get from the big 110” one I have. The design just looks so good. Having said that I do love my Laser engines and building a ‘Mad Max’ type rendition of the Mystic is also a very attractive’ proposition.
  20. This is a different approach where viewers of my YouTube channel will get to decide which model I build next! This will then form the content for the next build VLOG.
