  1. Never been a keen follower of this but having seen film of these 'boats' on TV I am amazed , they spend more time flying than sailing and reach such high speeds. Best of luck to all who sail /fly in them.
  2. The Reading club have a super flat smooth runway in most winters and some summers, for floatplanes. I remember most regular flyers had floats which could be fitted to their models when required.
  3. A loo brush, from my daughter
  4. If you fly from outside the circle using R/C that makes it more like RTP .
  5. I remember, back in the pre-metric days, being told that us Brits were better at mental arithmetic due to being taught to use the old imperial system.
  6. The majority of active modelers are of an age that was from the days of greatest advances in aviation but now most new aircraft seem to be copies of each other. It takes an enthusiast to recognise one passenger jet from another (now that Concorde is gone). Computer games ,not for me, but for the younger people are what fires the imagination now
  7. There is a Gannet on display at the museum of Berkshire aviation at Woodley near Reading.
  8. I, met Phill a couple of times at Fly-ins organised through the other forum, a nice guy but sadly not able to join in fully due to long standing illness. Sad to hear.
  9. I check out this thread regularly, mostly the first thing I look at.
  10. Heres one I always wondered if it was even possible, The full size was not a great success . The Blackburn B 20.

    Wings

I am in the process of clearing out all sorts of old (and forgotten) books and have found a set (Volumes 1 to10) of books titled Wings. I con not remember where or when I got them so any information would be helpful. They have the look of having been published as a series of magazines an are in hard back holders. There is no Publication data in the front of any of them, looking through the would seem to originate from the late 1970s,judging from the details in the text. Any body know any thing about them and any ideas of value?
