That looks great. I have found that blue does not blend into sky blue skies as it is darker and if inverted it is in shadow.
I think that the fact that I actually bought the kit for my electric conversion says a lot for the model and it's handling.

Hi Nick.
I think I may have done an R/C Biplane done on that theme but maybe I will look into the idea.
Hi i12fly
Glad you liked them, they were nice and among my favourites. THe Magister was a nice model too and very accurate. Enjoy.
Grumpy Tiger Cub was amazing as it would fly so well on one engine that one could work out which engine had died. A club member has just built one for electric power but has not flown it yet.

Unbelievably productive! What an outstanding list!
I've built and flown a Ballerina. I have both a Rans S9 and a Li'l Cub built but, as yet, unflown for various reasons (partly the Covid lock-down). I'm just, as I type, taking a break from my Fokker DVIII covering. The model should be ready to test fly by the end of the month. So Peter's designs have certainly provided me with many hours of pleasure even if I don't fly the models (which I certainly have very intention of doing).
Thanks, Peter.
Thank you. That is one of the things that makes it worth while.

Ok Pete,
Break over. Now can you get back to designing some more aeroplanes ? 😂
Seriously, I (along with many others) am impressed by your commitment to this hobby.
Also, it is nice that you haven't lost your enthusiasm (or even your marbles).
Keep up the good work. 👍
I am not too sure bout not losing my marbles!!
I can tell you that some years ago I did two nice scale models for someone who wanted to kit them.I am now told that they are with Kevin Crozier for future plans.
I am looking for inspiration at the moment

The reason that I phoned was that I had sent my tax return in by post. The lady in the Post Office said that I should send it "signed for". Royal mail had no signature for it so I put a claim in to the PO and they sent me 8 1st class stamps'
Then I phoned the tax office and they told me that they had received it. 8 stamps is worth having these days!!!

Test flew my new PT Sportser, a reduced rehash of a very old design. Flew well even though I was very rusty.
Note the spot on the right aileron. This was a bee which didn't fly away. It stayed on the aileron right through and very fast aerobatic flight an then calmly flew away after the model landed!!!!

Just completed this and ready for maiden at the weekend as weather looks more promising here in the north east.
It is Miss Lizzy, a Peter Miller plan from RCME September 2005. I am surprised how long I have had this squirrelled away, I always liked the look of it as well as the earlier smaller Tequila Sunrise. Since stashing the plan away I have swapped to electric only so I have converted this by making the space between F1 and F3 into a battery bay which has plenty of room for a 3S 5000mAh battery and cut a hatch into the top of the sheeting. Other changes are swapping the u/c to a small carbon fibre unit, 3D printing the cowl and moving the tailplane servos to the rear to offset the battery weight. The pilot and windscreen are also 3D printed. It all comes out to 4lbs 1oz including the battery and with 525W of power it should have good flight performance.
ps, I have just gone back and checked Peter's build article (RCME Miss Lizzy build article) for the weight and that states 4lb 1oz, exactly the same as I have achieved with my electric conversion. Just curious if the quoted weight is with or without fuel, mine is in flying condition including the battery weight (13oz).
GReat to see Miss Lizzy. You will love her I am sure.
Yes the weight is without fuel.
ENJOY!!!!

My latest, back from my repair shop, a donated airframe of a VMC Hurricane -a rubber powered model, 16" span, about 60g in weight, converted to full house and electric flight with the innards from a Volantex Super Cub by my pal Bob.
Unfortunately the Hurricane met with a more rigid object in the form of the windsock a few weeks ago and Bob passed the badly damaged, but repairable, airframe on to me, as I'd been wanting a Hurricane to add to the fleet of wee fellers. I built a replacement wing, covered it with 38um laminating film and after paining made some new replacement laser waterslide decals. All done now and waiting for a remaiden.
Very nice job.

I was thinking....If you can't get at something you will need to.

I always make up paper tubes and fit them. It makes installing things so much easier and also later servicing and repairing things. It is better engineering if you like.
