  1. Does anyone have any info on a Jamara Xenon 25-40 amp esc, ser no 081511, which came fitted to a used glider that I purchased, it seems to work ok but I cant find any setting instructions anywhere on the web. I would be very thankful if any one out there has any set up instructions. Thanks in advance Peter G
  2. New Question for Malcolm, using the 14SG transmitter, R700SB receiver, and SBS 02A telemetry sensor for altitude, set up on FASSTest 14ch. All seems ok green lights overall, but on tx screen it does not display actual meters, I can only see a dotted line, any ideas or is the sensor defect, the same setup was placed in another glider and did at that time show a reading, although it was only mounted and not flown. TX and RX were re linked and works ok, just cant get any reading from the sensor. Any ideas please
  3. Sorry, that should have read Malcolm, just another thought, should the tx and rx be linked with the sbs sensor connected or not?

  5. Thanks for replies, but as I said, that was only theoretical, actual situation is, I have a model that is not used but has the receiver mounted and programed into transmitter, if I now put this receiver into a new model would I have to rebind it or can I just program a new model in the transmitter?
  6. Probably a question for Malcom but anyone else might know. T14SG and R617FS receivers. I have more models as receivers at the moment and to save money can I swap receivers from one model to another, and then use another model setup in the transmitter. Is the set up locked in the transmitter or the receiver, Do I have to bind the receiver for each model or is this a one time operation. As a theoretical example, if I have only 1 receiver and 4 models and 4 models programed in the transmitter can I swap the receiver from one model to the other without problems. Thanks Peter
  7. Why is it so hard to post a reply here. Logging in for the umpteenth time, password not recognized , email address is used by another user. So last try today. Thanks Eric, I did eventually find the article in the archives and makes sense, so in the time before we can fly here again I can try some setting up on the bench, with prop removed of course, so a bit of reading for me now it seems
  8. Thank you Eric, but I have a problem there, due to the lockdown from last year, I did not recieve the may issue?, living in Germany, is it possible to read a digital version back issue here on the website, I tried but could not find anything. Or maybe someone could attach a photo of said article. ?hmm, just had a rush of something to the brain, maybe I got a digital copy instead, must look on my pc, hopefully it was saved.
  9. Thanks for replies, tx is futaba 14sg. I too prefer throttle on the stick, so would it be possible to put crow braking on a switch, slider of rotary control?
  10. Hello all, I have recently obtained a used multiplex heron and on looking at what other people have their control surfaces set too, it looks very complicated. Now out of practice with the lockdown here too, my question is, could I set up my heron using flaps as in a normal plane setup to start with, to get the hang of flying this for the first few times, or is it essential that I use crow etc set up. I would be flying from a flat field only, not slope soaring. Do not really want to make things too complicated for the first few flights. Thanks in advance for any advice. Peter.
  11. Thank you Flynn for your reply, as you say CAD is not easy, but have since found FreeCAD which goes from design to CNC all in one set of software, and there are loads of tutorials on the web so I will give it a try, but also look into your suggestions too
  12. Hello all you experts out there, recently been given a small CNC router but seems I need CAD and CAM software, looking on the internet it all seems expensive and complicated, don't really want to splash out at this stage but would like to try and learn first. Can anyone suggest any suitable freeware that is not too complicated to use so that I could give it a try. Not looking to make anything fancy at this stage but just thought it may come in handy if I need to cut something to make repairs (again) etc. Any suggestions or advice would be most welcome Thanks, and stay healthy, Peter Goldsmith
  13. Thanks for your reply Malcolm, will try it out later. Peter
  14. Hello Malcolm, I have a question for you, I have a used piper cub and the recomended throws for control surfaces are around 15 mm, I have the links on the closest to the middle on the servos and the longest on the horns to give the smallest amount of movement, but it is still way to much from the recomended settings, can I set this up on the transmitter using dual rate, or am I making more problems for myself, your advice will be very helpful, thank you in advance. I do have your book but cant seem to fathom out the best solution.
  15. Hello all again, seems I have the CofG cracked with my S Bach, seems to fly now with no problems. The seller of the model said he had flown with a 4s 2600 mah batterie, I bought a couple of robbe EVO lipos but seem to have a short flying time of around 5 minutes even though I am only using about half throttle until I get used to the model, I was thinking that I need a larger mah batterie, Any suggestions for good lipos , Thanks Peter.
