  1. If you just google 1.5mm prop adapter there are a number of options available.
  2. Can you provide more details on the 1050KV motor? You won't necessarily lose power but it may need a slightly smaller prop to avoid exceeding the current rating of the ESC.
  3. I had a similar problem on my Slowpoke, gears on the rudder servo stripped eventually due to the extra stresses imposed by the tailwheel. Replaced it with a metal geared one.

  5. I looked up the transmitter on the hobbyking website and the battery looks like a repurposed compact digital camera battery. It may be possible to find a replacement by sending dimensions and pictures to a camera battery supplier. Whether the tx is worth buying depends upon the price but it would have to be very cheap to be of interest.
  6. Bigger definitely better, easier to see and doesn't get blown around as much.
  7. It depends upon the type and size of model. A small fast delta foamy with a pusher prop might need a 2200kv motor with a 5 inch prop. A large slow trainer might need an 850kv motor with a 12 inch prop. It also depends upon the current rating of the motor. Unsurprisingly, motors with a higher current rating can turn a larger prop than a lower rated motor assuming that they have the same kv rating. I use propCalc to determine the best motor/esc/prop combination.

  9. Definitely need the ability to switch off the stabiliser. Gain too high results in a roller coaster ride, stabiliser response in the wrong direction is even worse.

  12. I have an led strobe on several gliders and it does help with orientation and identification especially when there are several models in the air at high altitude.

  14. Not necessarily daft. It gets around the future ban on pure ICE vehicles. It removes the friction losses in the gearbox because it doesn't have one. It enables the engine rpm to be independent of wheel rpm so the engine can be run at its most efficient settings improving fuel consumption and reducing pollution.
  15. I believe that the Honda MMD system works in a similar way. Petrol engine drives a generator which powers a motor driving the wheels, excess energy is stored in the battery for use later. This means that the vehicle can operate on electric power only then top up the battery by running the petrol engine at its most efficient rpm or run engine and motor together for bursts of high power. It also removes the need for a gearbox although there is a dog clutch that connects the petrol engine directly to the wheels for improved high speed efficiency. An interesting system.
  16. Many years ago a clubmate of mine put a Fox 60 in a KK Outlaw. Torque roll was vicious and it could only be hand launched on less than half throttle and even then it flew like a wet dog having a good shake until it built up speed.
