I'm ready to maiden. Plan on test hops first. Re-reading all the forum entries beforehand. Thanks for your help. Gene Graber in Penna. USA

Rich: here is my Revolver as of today. The blades balance quite well. Tomorrow I start covering the blades and install the motor, cockpit canopy, and rudder servo. Gene
-
Rich: I've completed the rotor blades but still have to cover with film. Here are the weights and measures: Blade #1 - 37 gms; 530 mm length end to bolt centerline - 530.4 mm. Blade #2 - 36 gms; 530.75 mm. Blade #3 - 36 gms; 530.0 mm. The spanwise C of G of the three blades is within 6 mm. I checked the balance of the three combinations and all are almost perfect - just slightly down on one side. When I assemble the rotor with the Coolwind head, one blade (#3) always ends up DOWN. So my lightest and shortest blade behaves like the heaviest. Any suggestions? Thanks. Gene

Rich: you must have been asked this before - sorry. In the RCM&E article, you state the blade bolt hole is to be 500 mm from the blade tip. On the plan, the 4 mm dia bolt hole is to be 530mm from the tip. It measures this on the plan. Which is correct? Thanks. Gene

Richard: I have completed sanding my three rotors. They weigh 35 gms with reinforcements before final coating and paint. Should I be concerned that they do not weigh 40 gms per your plan? Gene in USA

Latest progress on my Revolver. Next I work on the rotor blades. Gene

Rich: thanks for the video with four flying Revolvers! I'm just about ready to form the cockpit canopy and shape the rotor blades.

Rich: starting to take shape!! Gene

I've checked all the usual online sources and that motor is either on backorder or discontinued. Gene I'll go with the Power 10. The only negative is the added weight - +50 gms

Power 10 has 1100 KV; Park 480 has 1020 KV. Thanks. Gene

Rich: I finally found your recommended servos online - had to buy from China. I cannot find the Turnigy motor you suggested anywhere. Which would be the better choice? E-flite Park 480 or E-flite Power 10? Both are heavier than the Turnigy. The Park 480 develops 275 watts, the Power 10 375 watts. Which would you recommend? Thanks. Gene

Rich: thanks for the info. I ordered what I needed from Coolwind. I will send photos when done - it will be a while as I just started two weeks ago. Gene
-
Dan: I used the E-flite Park 480 1020 KV motor, 40 Amp ESC, and 3S 2200 mAh battery.

I built the Woodpecker three years ago but only got to maiden fly last week. It is rock solid in the air! It does take a firm launch to get going but once up to speed flies very well. The only change I made was substituting the 12 x 5 prop with a 12 x 8.

I'm building your Revolver II in the USA. I cannot find any source for the glass filled sheets (1.5. 0.8, and 0.4 mm). Can you provide any suppliers? Gene

I just completed the Woodpecker but have to install the battery. I'm looking for a battery tray to facilitate positioning. The plans were excellent but could have used more advance battery positioning information. Gene Graber, USA. I purchase the magazine at Barnes and Noble every month.
