  1. All very interesting. What make, model and price of camera
  2. Thanks for that Doc. I will not be down to Sheppey till next week at the earlist, but will keep an eye oye on the shellness road. OK on the wind I though it might be like that.
  3. Well we possibly had a chat. Nice site, as long as the wind is OK. Question I forgot to ask when there. How often is the wind too much to fly in down there, as it is right on the coast.
  4. Thanks for that Mike, I did visit the Barton point club on the 4th Aug. I may well join it if possible, but thought that I would find out about the other place first, before commiting myself.
  5. Cheers Alan, yes but I fly both electric powered gliders and I/C radio controled planes with a 5ft wing spen. Also the medway site is about a mile or so inland. The place I am looking at is about 300 yds inland.
  6. Thanks for that Alan. Yes I have seen their website, but it is not the group I am looking for. At least I don't think it is, because whoever was flying had powered models, and the Medway site is for gliders and free flight only. I have also found the Barton Point club, but that is not the club either. All the best Nigel
  7. A few weeks ago I was on the Isle of Sheppey, and saw a few chaps flying down by the last retreat cafe on the Shellness road just past Leysdown. Does anyone know anything about this club, as I have been unable to find any referance on the internet. We have a caravan just down the road from there, and it could be ideal for me. All the best Nigel
  8. Have you thought of getting the chaps you bought it off around. Let them sort it, or give it back as not of serviceable quality. Get them to bring another tele with them. It could be something breaking down inside the TV, as it was ok to start with. If in a few months time it totally packs up, then it will have to go back to the manufactures etc.
  9. Thanks for that Geoff. I have not seen the series, so will watch it for the first time. Looks very interesting Nigel N
  10. Just made a new windscreen for my plane. Used a Tesco diet lemonade bottle. The plastic is quite a nice thickness for it. Worth a try at about 49p a two litre bottle.
  11. I have been looking for an easy/closer club. I knew that they flew at Kempton park racecourse. Looked them up on the web and found they had been kicked off in 2015, so they could put up houses. As of now, they still have not even applied for planning permission. That's 3 years that the club could have been flying there. This is what we are up against. 12. A bit like the real ale industry. Big sellers are still around, but it is the small brewer who has more presence in my local. Is it because there are not that many youngsters coming into the hobby? We have the same in amateur radio. In my club at 66 years old I am one of the youngest in my club. Nigel N
  13. That's correct Percy, and they had them all flying. Some took about 8 miles to do a circuit, as they could not turn quick in case that fell out of the sky. Saw my first ME 109 there, even though it had a Merlin engine. As a Lysander, with a ladder bolted to the side of it. Built like a bath house. As I said a great day
  14. Went to Old Warden years ago. Looked at the Edwardian planes in the museum. These were replica that had flown the that great film. Next thing you know they were wheeling them out and flying them. Great day out
  15. Welcome Quentin, You'll find a friendly bunch of chaps here. But they can get a bit excited at times.
