  2. Hi Martin, I'm not far off the glassing stage and need a bit of advice on procedure. I'm not bad at glassing but it's the sequence I'm not sure of. Do I do the little bits like the bump in front of the canopy, the elevator cheeks, the rear fuselage, etc. independently, then the main fuselage in 2 halves lapping over the little bits? Any advice appreciated, Cheers, Austin

  4. Hi Ade, this is my second attempt to contact you. My first post appeared then disappeared. "Eavesdropping" on your discussion about canopies -a 19" long canopy is mentioned. This is not the Sabre one is it? Have I joined part way through something? I would be very grateful if you could let me have a canopy for the mass build Sabre to the length shown on Martins plan.   9. Hi Martin, I'm looking for a canopy. I've been on Vortex Vacforms website but don't see a Sabre one. Did I see somewhere that the P51 canopy was adapted? Also, I need a head and shoulders Korean War USAF pilot. I would be very grateful if you can advise. If it's true that you learn by your mistakes I'll be a genius at the end of this build.   10. Hi again Martin, another problem I need advice on: The wing has been built and covered for a few weeks. It's been in the garage for quite a while.Yesterday I noticed that part of the balsa skin had lifted up off the ribs. I brought it indoors and it's all gone nice and tight again. I used Titebond as my glue. Will it be OK when I Fibreglass and paint it, or is there a way of re-glueing it without mass demolition? Austin
  11. Hi Martin, A couple of questions: !. does the rear elevator wire need to be sleeved? It doesn't leave much meat on my bell crank. 2. Will 6mm Dia. nylon bolts do for the wing bolts. Thank you and Gordon for introducing me to PS building - I'm not sure if I would have jumped in so quickly if I'd known what was going to be involved. (So much to learn..........). Mine won't be the smartest model on the slopes. When I read what Phil and Dirk are up to it makes me realize I have a long way to go. Hope to see you at the Orme in April. Austin
  12. Hi Phil, thanks for your prompt reply and the links. I may be ahead of you because I stay in the UK and don't go gadding off to Mexico. I'm sure you will soon pull ahead - I'm 3 steps forward 2 steps back. I thought I would show you my workshop before I lose it. I've just received an Eviction Notice (Kath wants to hold a Coffee Morning).
