  1. Maybe it would be so nice of those business like people at subscriptions to present a three issue free bee to all us subscribers who are being treated like fools for subscribing in the first place. I wonder just how long they think the magazine will exist when you consider how many good RC mags have fallen by the wayside. There again they can’t be bothered to answer phones or emails
  2. Hi Jack It so happens I have an original Mijet in its complete form. The idea of parting with it is not fun.....but! Alan
  3. Thanks for the input but I wasn’t asking for instruction. I merely was explaining how great the aircraft is and illustrating the method I have used. After approximately 30 ish years of enjoying this a/c I was also explaining the modification to the aileron set up.
  4. Ps The aileron servo was fitted vertically in the centre section within a box section I added. There is loads of clearance for the torque rods and all the other gear in the fuselage. My repaired wing will sport an aileron in each wing now they are smaller than my original house brick Sanwa servo
  5. Great model and a pleasure to fly. I built mine in 91 from the RM free plan. Had some head scratching but built the stbd wing as per the plan and the pt wing to the same pattern but reversing R3 and 4 ribs with the first two R2 ribs. The ply bracer also was a worry but I ended up half lapping the ribs and bracer. Naively this weakens the bracer but after 30 ish years of aerobatics and sport flying it has only just failed. I had a total loss of control and planted it nose in from height. The wing broke cleanly between CS1 and R1 on the stbd side with no other damage. Currently replacing the aforementioned bracer and will be ready to fly again when the weather gods stop being pesky. A really great model. Even as a follow on first low wing a/c after a trainer. Have fun.
  6. JD8.. The oleo pressure ‘get around’ was also repeated by the pilots flying the 109 for the film Battle of Britain. They would taxi back in if they felt the pressure was not correct. The Luftwaffe original pilots suffered greatly as it was never classed as a novices a/c although 1 or 2 felt it was superior to our Spitfire A
  7. Thanks folks. I had the vicious tip stall on a landing go around. I opened the throttle as I would with a non warbird. (Rearward c of g and 4s ) and it span. Nearly recovered by killing the throttle but the stupid ground looked up too soon. Will definitely try the suggestions and also fly off grass rather that a very disused, disused airfield. The ruts and bumps are magic at getting airborne in under 2 feet. Not much further forward after that though😒😊 Thanks again for the advice and great vid. Just looking for the spares bits now. Al
  8. Hi world I have a Durafly 109 and having discovered just how ***** difficult they can be on take off, I also found they tip stall at anything below Mach 2. I would like to ask you experts two things 1 how can I avoid the tip stall 2 Does anyone have any exhaust stacks and side fus air intake please. My replacement fuselage is devoid and HK are not producing. Any help would be much appreciated Al
  9. Thanks IAm. Unfortunately I have a 6i that’s a few years old and I cannot locate the requisite sd card port suggesting that it is too old. May need to speak nicely to the ‘Boss’ to request a replacement. Thanks again folks. Happy and safe flying.
  10. The receivers are the 410 and the 620. Neither of them will preset failsafe but both will smart failsafe. I have employed two experienced rcers to assist with no improvement. I have read the destructions till my eyes cross and get no further. I have tried this using both my dx6i and dx7. The receivers are brand new units. I will just continue trying: may try sneaking up on them when it’s dark. Thanks for the comments about ‘kicking’ over the rudder and yanking the elevator but seriously I don’t believe any flier would do that in normal flight let alone in an uncontrollable situation. I know it’s for gliders but they hold the airspeed record for Rc. All feedback has been useful. Thank you everyone Al
  11. Thanks folks but the basic failsafe is not the issue, the manuals for both 400 and 600 series give instructions for the programmable failsafe which is pretty important for gliders. I need to be able to have the elevator and rudder kick over to return the glider to earth instead of holding last input if the signal is lost. Thanks anyway 🤗
  12. Hope someone can direct my efforts in setting up programmable failsafe on the above receivers? I have tried both my DX 6I and DX7 tx and religiously followed the supplied instructions but have failed spectacularly every attempt. it must be me going wrong as I cannot do this with my Sanwa SD-10GS either. (duh!)🤨
  13. Yep still trying without success. Have had no reply regarding my lost May issue. I may be going back to buying the issues that appear interesting off the shelf next year. Don’t need to be ignored by mytimemedia. I can be ignored by my expert at home for free 😂🤭 Al
  14. I also have not received the May issue and reading my confirmation email find that my renewal, although phoned through with payment on the 6th April, apparently only makes me eligible for June’s issue. I think the system is somewhat corrupt at the moment. Still let’s be glad that the print is going ahead. Al
  15. Well an update from me to say that the lack of customer communication has apparently been resolved. Yipee and thanks to whoever managed it. It came through at 01:00 this morning 😁
  16. It all sounds goodish news if you can get an email from anyone regarding renewals. I renewed nearly 3 weeks ago by phone and thought no problem. They would confirm with email... didn’t arrive. Gave a week to allow for current situation then phoned again. Went through the process of checking email address. Ok promised to send email....never arrived. The long and short of it is that I have now been promised emails and return phone calls but no one has upheld their promise. The only information I am given seems to be different on each occasion. Getting really hacked off (moderated for decency) Can it be so difficult?, or is it becoming personal. Remember, just because I’m paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not out to get me! Phone call number 9 today apologised and promised to email straight away... didn’t arrive 🤯
