  1. Croeso matt, oddi wrth gogledd cymru. Welcome Matt, from a gog.
  2. Good ditty on BBC TV BBC 1 news just now about survey drone operating from Llanbedr airfield near Harlech in Eryri. That would have explained the blue box temporary no fly zone area around the Mawddach estuary as seen on dronesafetymap.com last week or so. Thanks again Andy Symon bmfa for the heads up on that app , bmfa news page 30. Interesting news article
  3. As the title suggests...possibly ? Please debate...., but please please please be gentlemen about it. If you have had a vimto or 3, sleep on the topic and debate in the morning, when you are sober. Churchill said something about being sober in the morning. A Tetley's, sorry, typhoo and honey for me then bed.
  4. Yeah, the me109 fuz, but they bottled out using the material for the wing..
  5. Fantastic view jr...sas planes are good, come back sas...
  6. Hi kevin, Pm me with price, plus carriage please, unless it's spoken for. A non smoker now so money available...😁
  7. I find that if the new fuel pipe is pushed well onto the rectangular coloured slec tank fuel "spigot" fuel pipe stub when dry, they do not come off in use. The fuel pipe can be the devil to remove at a later date, the fuel pick up pipe being slightly easier than the plastic stubs. New tank, new pipe etc.. Have a great day chaps, stuff to do. Happy landings.
  8. Slec coloured rectangular tanks have a chromed brass clunk from memory.... At least the one in the shadows tank was, but that was quite old when it was replaced
  9. Hi Nigel, Yeh, right, but the trolley is on wheels, but yes, the whole unit is a little heavy to lift into and out of the car. Same battery fits the motorcycles and has plenty of "power". As a matter of interest how much is a 3s2200 lipo battery including carriage ? The new wet lead acid bike battery I bought for the RC model aircraft "ground servicing and refueling transportation unit" otherwise known to me as " the trolley" was on offer, dry charged with acid pack, carriage free, for just under £30 including vat. I bought three Good gaurantee, good batteries, the new one on the bike starts the engine with real gusto, in all weathers, as the bike lives outside with a small cover to stop rain getting into the headlamp shell, handlebar switches, ign switch and fuel tank cap. Anyways, each to thier own.
  10. Thanks Jon Perhaps a "common IC engine problems" thread may be a good thing, unless that has already been done ? I know you have done lots on this subject Jon, being the "go to person' on here about this subject, especially laser. This in no way infers that others "know nothing" and are from "barcelona".
  11. Thanks for the heads up about the veneer Nigel, thanks. Nice one stu... A shaped white foam core, recessed spars, balsa leading and trailing edge and covered with brown paper or even patterned gift wrap works well. Cereal packet ( wheatabix packet seems the best, family pack for size ) or banana box cardboard sheet minus the holes is good too. A bit heavy but great, free and reusing at the same time. Reusing white foam that is found in skips etc., Re purpose, re use, re cycle. Turns out aeromodellers have been doing this sort of stuff for years, some of at at least. So annoying to find that most fruit and veg comes in cardboard boxes these days. A free source of raw material that had dried up sadly, the "wooden" boxes that is, that ended up in landfill in years gone by. Can corrugated cardboard be used to make s successfully flying model ?
  12. What is the thing on wheels that contains the golf sticks please ? Thanks Jon. The green stuff that is sometimes seen in glow fuel and tanks, copper leached from the brass ?
  13. Cheers Brian. Banana boxes or similar are great and freely available from your favourite supermarket, some giving you points for taking them ! Hope you get a good price.
  14. Golf caddy ? One with wheels ? Wonderfull things are wheels, you can even put them on your plane. Anyways, stuff can get heavy. Try taking a gallon of water for a walk if your in doubt. Yes, water can't walk but if it's in a can, carry it in that, and be responsible. 😁 Fuel filters, yes, great idea. The sintered ones ? A word of caution, glow fuel and brass... Ever seen green glow fuel or a green coating inside a glow fuel tank ? Why does that happen ? Longish storage of glow fuel with a brass fuel pick up "dangling" in the glow fuel.... Is it true that burning a glow fuel produces water ? I like the "rubber tube" idea for deeply recessed or difficult to reach glow plugs. Modern cars seem to have deeply recessed spark plugs like a citroen ds21, that space age looking car of the 50's... Japanese bikes ( and other flavours ) have difficult to reach spark plugs also. Have a great day out there, happy landings.
  15. Had it been an untouched kit..... And prefferably a mark one three channel ... Please keep me in the loop.... Would you drop the price...and would consider sending it by courier......
  16. I take it you guys carry everything from the back of your car to the pits area ? Sometimes the pits area are some distance from the car, or even home... Think old oap shopping trolley with half gallon fuel resevoir, hand pump, 12v 12 ah motorcycle battery ( the same one as the bikes ) to power electric starter, power panel to regulate 12v down to glow clip, clothes peg type, room for all of this topped off by box for tools and tx. . One hand free for model, the other used to pull trolley along. Trolley fits in the back of the car. Or Get a slave/assistant to carry all the stuff.
  17. Twas repeated this morning. Reliant "kitten", remember those ? I am sure it will be repeated again, the program that is, so I can watch it from the very beginning. Mode 1 ? Have a great day chaps.
  18. Internet crap here as usual.. the pleb comment was sent ages ago but not received...? Hi Matty, a "cross thread" perhaps ? Humble apologies if my threads are a little difficult to comprehend or unravel, i will try harder to make them simpler and easier to fathom in future... Google E and T, select E and T magazine. Scroll down, look to right and see futuristic passenger flying taxi's.....VTOL... The article Dr. Dai sent in his email said "1000's of UK airfields " ? Are there 2001 airfields or more in the UK at the moment, real full size ones ? A VTOL airfield would be so much smaller than a full size or even club airfield, meaning they could materialise almost anywhere, subject to conditions etc.. This could result in reduced or more regulated flying fields for us, compulsory rid and/or other conditions imposed by caa... It was suggested that model fliers might propose a "standard" or definition for a "park flier" but it seems we want to wait for caa to impose a standard on us. No "definition", so ASA are more or less "ineffective" relative to what is written on some models and their boxes maybe ? Depends how you read things, between the lines, or join the dits I suppose. I have been told the older we get the more cynical we become..... Horizon..... So difficult to see cas stuff on this phones matchbox sized screen with crap internet signal, whilst on a real computer with a big screen in the library, is a different world. I am saving hard for a modern real computer and internet, any one wanna buy an RC boat or eighties motorcycle/70's moped ??? Have a great weekend guys and gals....
  19. When sir Humphrey was at the gates of no.10, did he mutter the word "pleb" to the policeman ?
  20. Thanks Simon, watched in library on a proper computer with a large screen. I wonder what the ppl holder was thinking ? Will take ear gogles with me for next visit/viewing. That big H looked inviting ! Lemon RC, yes it's good to keep the manufacturer or even the importer " in the loop". Thanks again Simon. You made a sloper version ?
  21. Mention that to George so he can get the motors labeled better. I am sure he will relabel to save future hassle/customers. Happy customers keep pay days happening. I have made a note in my little yellow book so I won't forget in future. Thanks for the heads up.
  22. Yep, only one hard copy a year gratis from now on. Wrong choice I feel but I also understand why. However £10 for hard copies was it ? I will make do with the digital copy.....
