Without hestation, my internet supplier (Macace) recommended Bitdefender - and it's a free download with no 'extra demands'.

Someone is now posting engine plans on Outerzone, usually from the Motor Boys plan books. These are available as FREE downloads in .pdf format, direct from the aircraft plans page. The M-B plan books have been available to download from the internet for some time, and I'm reliably informed that there is no problem with breach of copyright.

Voyager 1 eventually left the solar system and is still travelling away from us. It carries various messages, etc. in case it is ever intercepted, is still active and reports back to us. Part of the onboard messages, as well as a map of how to find us on earth is (I think) a copy of 'Roll Over Beethoven' as well as some more 'classical' music. Apparently a message was recently received, which when translated, said - "Send more Chuck Berry!"

It’s December, winter’s here, but… I refuse to put snow tyres on my car, because: It’s my car, my choice, my freedom. The effectiveness of snow tyres is not proven, except by studies carried out by tyre manufacturers and the government. My neighbour had an accident after putting on snow tyres: this proves how dangerous they are. Some are already on their third set of snow tyres: this proves their ineffectiveness. We do not know what snow tyres are made of. Winter is a worldwide hoax created by the tyre companies to scare us and thus enrich themselves. In fact, the tyre companies invented snow: they spread it at night while you sleep. If you have snow tyres, the government can track you in the snow. Educate yourself, open your eyes, stop being sheep! This winter - snow tyres?!? Just say NO! You know it makes sense.

Adrian's website is more than worth a look for all you i.c. guys - more or less a continuation of the now defunct Motor Boys site.

Can't log in - nothing recognises my name, email address or password. It now informs me that my email address is in use by another member! Ooh - after goodness knows how many attempts, I'm signed in at last. Didn't do anything different to what I'd done before, Technology and progress? Not sure about either.

Posted by J D 8 on 19/01/2021 15:24:38: As a school prize I chose from a selection of books " Your book of Aeromodelling by Robert R Rodwell which in part covered the building/flying of the Cadet putting me on the path to some 55 years of modelling. On winning the Junior Music prize (aged 14 in 1958), I chose Ron Moulton's Model Engine Encyclopaedia as my prize. The music master was not impressed - but I was. I've still got it, complete with school badge embossed in gold on the front cover.

Just a reminder to all, 6 January is twelfth night, so time to take the decorations and tree down, put them back in the loft, then get the sprouts on to boil for xmas 2021.
