  2. I think it is a way they can say we are keeping the price the same.... However in reality the price has increased the cost of screws.
  3. Many thanks to all those who supported the indoor event from the many clubs that were in attendance. Each club has a hardcore few who enjoy indoor so joining them all up makes it cost effective , and most of all FUN.
  4. I am bring one tonight so no probs there if your stuck. Fingers crossed we will get a few there despite the cold.
  5. Just had confirmation call that the hall is open and roads are clear locally. So look forward to seeing people there. Tea and coffee will be on sale to keep fingers warn at a bargain price of 20p a cup cans 50p each. profits to Air Ambulance. Please drive safely
  6. A big stik . Great plane loved mine. flew absolutley awesome.
  7. Yes makes sense. The head may be misalignment due to inaccuracies in build ( Who built it????????? LOL) Therefore the bolt ( which needs to be thread locked in place ( I remember)) is the part that is most affected. Fingers crossed for round two if the rain ever stops. You don't fancy building a boat out of that blue foam????????????? Cheers Tom Gaz
  8. The picture is of a Crak Pitts by twisted hobbies. It is sold by Robotbirds and flies very very well on a 2204 motor indoors, not sure on how it handles outdoors. Would imagine it would cope in calm conditions.
  9. At last I have found a 2mm threaded rod. I knew i had some some where but where ?? And the shops closed till New year in some cases. But I have tonight found a threaded rod and expoxyed it in to the tube then wound cotton round for strength. Does the horizontal bar between the two servo arms when viewed from the back need to be paraalell to the floor or raised on the right side a little to compensate for torque?? Gaz

  12. Just found this on the card. Christmas present to self !!! To go with the next kit I find online!!!!
  13. Build a shock flier. Greatfor servos like that . Or a pipe lagger by Tom wright cheap fun fly plane. I got one with led lights for night flying .
  14. Well I did get to the patch for some well earnt therapy. Wind was not as gentle as would have liked but as you flew in stronger I felt comfortable with conditions. Head whistled on spool up , good sign. Motor had plenty of pull. Head moved in direction . Into wind and up . Then off to the right no recovery possible. Arrrrrggghhh post Mortim revealed that a carbon rod fixing from the steel clevises had fractured and released the left servo clevises . Hence lacking left turn . Dooooh 10 seconds flight. Will repair and band with cotton to strengthen
  15. Tom I hope to get some air time Sunday with the gyro. It has been in the hanger since I saw you due to the weather and my degree needing every minute of the day. Thankfully it has now been submitted and I can get on with the serious stuff.....flying. fingers crossed for a light wind in the morning.!!
  16. Hi Tom , still not tried it yet been busy completing my dissertation . All done now . Remind the student that take off is optional , landing is mandatory an as such is the more difficult of the two. Landing is a crash... It just depends how you control the crash!!!!!!
  17. Cheers for replies so far . It does look great laugh weaving round . I have the flying mario kart which drives around as well

    Airbug

Just finished a massive research take and looking for a bit if fun to redeem my sanity. Found the airbug at flying wings. A hovercraft epp foamy for indoor sports hall. Anyone one got one and could tell me the info of the motor all it says is 3000kv . No amp or watt out put . Cheers guys.
  20. Just like to say what an absolute pleasure it was to meet with Tom yesterday and spend several hours discussing various modelling experiences. His knowledge is truley amazing as is the "Big Blue" . Such an innovator to be using these materials in such large designs, my lagger is testimony to that . The reason for the visit was to add another victim to the auto gyro bug. Yes I too am now hooked and looking forward to building one in the near future . I would like to do one suitable for indoor . Fixed head with elevator and rudder. A combination of blue, depron and carbon fibre . Maybe throw in some epp fir good measure. Well many thanks for the hospitality Tom and watch out for the maiden of the auto g .
  21. Never done it myself but paint it a shade lighter so it darkens to correct colour. Obviously test ratios of mixes first. Poss weigh on digital scales to mix.
  22. **LINK** classified £30 5 channel TX . Not computerised but has hi and lo rates with reversable switches. 4 channel is also available as are the smaller indoor txs ( look almost toy like) depends on how far you plan on going . The UMX range is addictive and the bind and fly are also very nice. Get to a swap meet or bring and buy. usually a UMX for sale and they used to come with the smaller tx which is the very least you need.
  23. My flying tends to increase in the winter. I still go to the patch and fly but also go to the various indoor meets which tend to be a winter thing only. Strange as Summer is no better!!!
  24. Hi all , wondering if anyone has the above plan. Friend of mine built one 30 years ago and it was stolen leaving only the wing. Looked on the net but only found the 45 inch version . Many thanks for looking Gaz
