  1. Posted by Andy Meade on 08/07/2019 11:33:09: Our Mitsubishi PHEV charges from a 13A socket, from empty to full in 4 hours. This gets us 40 miles in the summer, easily enough for the other half's daily commute. We get a reduced rate through our energy supplier for charging at off peak times, and when she's at work the charger there is free. £45 petrol lasts 1600 miles, and it costs £1.75 to charge to full at home. Long trips aren't a problem, as we use the petrol generator then, and have stopped at services to charge to 90% in about 40 minutes from the fast chargers (some will cost, some don't). Enough time for a coffee and toilet break. The PHEV has a huge boot, even more so with the back seats forward, goes like stink when you floor it, and even recharges the battery through kinetic energy recovery when breaking. We love it, and are sure that we'll replace it with another when the time comes, and no doubt mine will be electric too when I get around to changing mine. It's the future. Thats impressive Andy...40mls. Is yours the 2.4ltr version with the bigger battery? Best i've ever managed is 30 in summer and around 25 in winter. Had mine for two years so it's the older 2.0 ltr generator . Regen saves on the brake pads too!! Andrew
  2. Posted by Peter Miller on 20/06/2019 09:08:21: The real problem is not all the emissions. The real problem is population. Someone let slip on the radio the other day that the world population has DOUBLED since 1976 All those extra people want cars, heating, lighting, air travel (Well a lot of them) and all the goods. Then we have the huge costs of making clothes unless we all turn nudist. This has been highlighted onthe radio recently In short, as long as the population keeps growing at that rate there is NOTHING that will stop polution.and emissions Never mind, we won't have to. Nature has a way of dealing with over population. A nice big plague will bring it down to civilised levels! ME? I won't be here I am very glad to say. +1
  3. ...Goodness me D.D...He does look like Richard E Grant!!!....Never noticed that before. Andrew
  4. They are not the only ones to offer this but as Don asks, it would be interesting to know how this is filtered. £7.00 across the board is fine if your pack is fairly big but for me at 10kwhs it makes no sense as i can get 80% charge using only 3ltrs of petrol.....considerably less than seven quid. This might come into it's own when there are more pure EVs around. Andrew
  5. Posted by Tom Sharp 2 on 26/05/2019 20:53:42: Think of all the trouble and anguish that would have been avoided had Mode 2 had been strangled at birth. .....or if mode 1 had died with the dinosaurs!!! Tongue firmly in cheek!!! Andrew
  6. I always enjoy your builds D.D....and this one has been particularly well done!!...Keep up the good work mate....Whats next?? Andrew

DITTO .....and another one!!....paid for postage and packing....only got the postage...not good!!
  8. Hi John Just fitted the Spektrum pack in my DX8G2 and the answer is no!!..Just go slowly and take care. I used a cocktail stick with the point removed to coax the wires into place. At least with the Spektrum pack, it won't have to be removed for charging. Andrew P.s.....How inventive were these new swear words???
  9. Didn't know that this was on...Thanks for the heads up... Really enjoyed it. Andrew
  10. Fantastic to see the DSM advert again but no mention of the Super Dalotel!! Andrew
  11. Percy Are you sure this isn't just down to Tesla moving to direct sales only..i.e miss out the dealer. Andrew
  12. Charles I've grown both Finger and Birdseye chillies in the past. Do as you plan on the kitchen window sill, then pot on into larger pots and put outside when it's warmer. They will tolerate much cooler conditions than you would imagine but keep them out of the wind. Only other thing i would add would be to leave planting the seed until the end of the month or they will be ready to go outside a bit too early , at least in the north that is. Andrew
  13. Yes please Timo....There is interest. Andrew
  14. FB3 Yes the plugs will fit but as Percy suggests have a look at the radients. If in doubt, give Peter at Airtek a call. He is always very helpful. Andrew
  15. Still coming on nicely Eric...Looking forward to seeing it finished. Andrew
  16. Michael There are actually very few manufacturers of motors in China. Most of the brands are just that,a brand. XYH are sold under various brands. Their C series have been sold as EMP, Overlander Thumper, Ripmax Quantum and one of the early 4Max ranges and all at different prices (4Max being 3 to 4 times the price of the others....!!!) and many others. China Hi Mark...often sold as Hi Max by Multiplex. Same motor but again about 3 times the price. It shouldn't surprise you that Hobbyking G-Series and E Flite are not just similar but the same motor from the same factory, only the price is different. A thread on here a couple of years ago showed that few people had,had any issues with any brand of motor, so chasing the price is often worth it and asking certain suppliers for "ADVICE" is often a complete waste of money.. Andrew
  17. Keep going Mike I didn't see this thread first time around but it's fascinating. The LD has to be one of the all time great planes. Andrew   Edited By Andrew767 on 17/02/2019 21:12:56

  22. Phil I had one of these but never assembled it. Eventually sold on ebay. If i remember correctly it's a low wing aerobatic slope soarer. It was reviewed in Radio Modeller , i can't remember when but late 90's. Perhaps a forum member with a back catalogue could pull it out. KC??. Andrew
  23. Looking good Eric... Keep going, this is a really interesting thread. Until this, i wasn't aware that the WM planes were available as kits.Something to think about. Andrew
