Return of the Hill Top Posse
Andy Freeman replied to Craig Carr's topic in Slope Soaring and Dynamic Soaring
Just a quick post to let the HTP know that I arrived safely here and my stuff cleared customs and was delivered on Tuesday. Had no computer except the work laptop so had to keep a low profile. Was a good decision to let most of my models go. The ones I decided to bring out did not fare too well in transit. Even the "Longhoughton Hammer" combat thing managed to come off worse for the jorney and I was unable to damage that even when trying! Can fly on a small sea cliffs a couple of hundred yards from my new house and there are some bigger hills about 30 mins away. So once emergency repairs are made and all the 35 Meg stuff replaced (its not legal here) I shall be worrying the locals with my erratic stick twiddling. Will post some photos of sickening sunny vistas and such like when I get a chance. Andy HTP (Antipodean chapter) -

As an ex Posse member I feel I must inform Ken that I have gone to the other side. Have gone native and am now of the indians. Changed my name to "Flies like drunken man" after my terrible piloting. The Bairn is now "whines on the climb" after his griping on the way up the hill and the wife is now "5 horses" after the nag, nag, nag ,nag, nag -

Probably a good thing actually. That lot hanging round the hill hops are none too easy on the lens you know Specially that "foreign" lad Enrico. Got home and the dog refused its dinner after having to look at him all afternoon!!! -

The Scarlet Pimpernel chased the spiders out of his models and managed to remember the way to a hill. Even the offspring and dog managed not to spoil an afternoon of gliding, the first in months. Roll on the return of the sunshine.... -
Posted by ken anderson. on 01/10/2010 20:02:46: andy freeman is no longer a member of the Hill Top Posse...even though he do'snt know it-he'll prob post later as at this time of night he is otherwise engaged..... .. say no more ken anderson...ne..1.. Thrown out of the Posse eh? He is fickle like a woman that Ken. Sadly the only flying I have been able to do is a quick half hour every so often on the small dunes near home. I shall return once the Chancellor allows me to keep some of the money I earn!

Dynaflyte Talon

Lost the will to live with the TV over the weekend and went to have a look in the hanger to see what could entertain me for a while. Spotted this one stuck in the rafters and it brought back memories of a recent Hill Top Posse trip that failed to produce the wind speed needed for the models I had with me. So, Out of the cold and in to the house,as SWMBO was out, and removed the central aileron servo and all the associated metalwork. Made provision for a servo per side in the wing and started construction of a new tail. the old one was sheet and needed a fair lump of church roof as well as the battery to balance. Will report back later.. -
Anyone tell me the correct connections for a "Y" lead
Andy Freeman replied to Andy Freeman's topic in All Things Model Flying
Thanks for all the input guys. I do want it to potentially run 2 aileron servos. Common sense seems to have deserted me when initially thinking about this. I forgot that the servos would be placed in mirror image and that would of course reverse the outputs. Silly me. Ken, yes I am too tight to buy one! but in my defence i have already cut the connectors off to feed the wires through the hole i had to cut in the wingribs.. -
Posted by Craig Carr on 07/10/2010 09:36:00: Andy, I needed a replacement arm for one of my hitec MG servo. Cameron in Gladstones actually stocks them bagged up as spares ... . Cheers Craig, Now just need to find the time to get down there..........

Cheers Alan, I will try the LHS and see if they can supply me with some. If not I might just impose on your goodwill..... Many thanks

Google seems to have failed me in this one. I broke the OP arm on one of these servos. My collection of various horns does not seem to fit. Does anyone know if the splined shaft is the same size as other Hitec servos ie HS82MG? And can i get replacements?? Cheers in advance, Andy
