  1. Hi Masher many thanks for the reply and help i'll go for the plan length, of 56", the fin post i will pack out until i glue in the whole fin, and i will use 1/16 ply all the way to F1. it is sometimes nice to have other peoples opinions on build matters. i to am going down the i.c. engine route i have just purchased a 0.80 a.s.p. four stroke from just engines , i have noticed the dihedral braces on the plan and a picture of the center section in the mag. good luck with your build an enjoy regards Pat. 2. Hi i am about to build the moonglow from plans in this months rcm&e and i would like some help and explanations if you can ? 1 The fuz. length in the data file is 56" / 1422mm put the front and rear fuz. plans together and the length is 48" /1200mm wich length is right ? 2 On the plan the fin post is shown sandwiched between the rear fuz. sides but not in the pic. in the mag. ie look at the pic. small fillet that blends the tailplane to the fuz. 3 Do the 1/4" wing doublers go all the way to the back of F1 bulkhead or are they to the rear of F2 bulkhead only many thanks Pat. Is there any one who can guide me on this details below Cessna 172h by Eric Fearnley plan no. 1210 originally from Nexus plans service Hemel Hempstead Many Thanks
  4. Thanks for the replies to my question My engines are irvin 46, kyosho clone type 46, and os 15, and the fuel i use is optifuels optimax 12 The reason for my original question is while flying last Thurs. afternoon my glow start must have been partially shorting out pos. due to the ingress of fuel as i did have dificulty in starting and when checking the plug hardly any glow after a 12 hr. charge the previous night Then a further overnight charge the reult was a weak glow But on checking at the shop with a new glow start all was well so the question came up as to what type of plug to use Many thanks Pat.
  5. Hi i had to buy a new glow start yesterday wich led me think about what plug to use and why, should it be a hot, med, or cold ? and what one should i use can anyone explain please regards Pat.
  6. Hi Don thanks for your coments iv'e had eight flights so far all of them successful and fun iv'e taken her high cut the throtle with loads of up elevator and keeping her steady with aileron usage she dos'nt want to stall i'm most impressed. My model is r.a.f. colours black with yellow trims iv'e just recently added two jet pilots and can't wait to fly her in better weather. I to hope to go to the Greenacers fly in with two tucs. 45'' and 30'' my lattest winter build Maricado, mamselle, and triple treat glider, if i can put wheels on my workshop that is i also intend to camp over the weekend in our camper. regards Pat. 7. Sat. 10-11-12 had the maiden of my 54'' elect. Tucano today i started this build before it was elected as next years mass build i must admit i was pleased to learn of this news, I have had so much fun with the smaller version that i built years ago. I started with three fast taxis up the the strip to check out the tracking an get my confidence all seamed ok, throttle opened up to full tap the model zoomed away at break neck speed i eased off on the elevator and took a nose dive then over compensated on the stick by this time the tuc. was over at the far end of the field above the trees doing a fantastic array of acrobatic's i'm not sure if this was intentional how ever once i had come to my senses i eased off on the throttle to half way brought the model around to face the strip ( at this point it surprised me at how quickly it slowed down to a manageable speed) and allowed me to land on the strip even if it was down wind at least no bin bag yet! The next flight i had John Dickison our chief trainer at my side to give me support, Once again i opened up the taps then closed to half throttle once airborne this gave us time to judge the problem it turned out that 80% of down trim was needed (i had set the elevator dead level with the stab) however i was now in control and enjoying a couple of circuits to end in a slow and acceptable landing on the strip this time up wind. Sun. 11-11-12 i adjusted the elevator via the snake and clevis and brought the trim on the trany. back to zero and gave her a good ringing out down at the strip . Roll on my next flight (what an aircraft) Pat. Checkley (wicken model aircraft club)
