Engine mount adaptor 60 size to 40
Alex(biggles) Wilkins replied to Alex(biggles) Wilkins's topic in IC Engines
Thanks for the advice, but i think im going to get an SC91FS for it now. I think ide need to cut the top of the front of the fuz off to install new captive nuts i dont fancy that idea! -
A friend at my club is kindly giving me his old Wot 4 for a Winter Hacker, it currently has an engine mount installed for a 60 size engine. Im planning on installing a Jen 57, which is a 40 size engine. Are there any adaptors out there that would enable me to install this onto the 60 size engine mount? As Ide like to avoid having to drill new holes for a smaller engine mount.

Does anyone know if the Hangar 9 training lead (HAN174), will work for a spectrum DX6i to Futaba trans?

Missed the mention by Quin of the Groove freestyle, i like the look of that one! has anybody flown one of these? if so is it possible to mount the engine the right way up or on its side as the engine i was going to use doesnt like running upside down. Might be better to get a new engine any recomendations?

Great Suggestions, i like the idea of the Jumper 25, mainly because of the price. I have thought about buildin a Ben Buckle model before, Im practicing building a profile plane at the moment from a plan from this magazine! So maybe after that thanks for the suggestions. -

The last Seagull Sea fury i saw, did a spiralling death dive into the dirt, therefore ide like to show my club how your supposed to fly one!! ( well hopefully anyway ) -
hi, im having the same problem with my 46la, ran fine the right way up, but cuts even on fast idle while inverted, very annoying, last weekend i had it running fine for around 30 seconds by the time ide carried the plane from the pits to the strip the engine died. ive also tried a load of different plugs, screwed the airbleed screw in and out, god knows how many times, and tried two different fuel tanks no luck. I read somewhere using an OS type F plug can solve the problem, anyone else tried this?

Can anybody suggest, an ARTF Airplane, which suits a 35 size OS engine, this engine is 35 years old, and had a habit of dieing on me in my last plane. I need a new plane to test it on. Preferable affordable and glides in ok. The only kits i seem to find are for 40/46 aircraft minimum. Ive been flying for a while now so i dont mind if its a trainer/sportsplane or whatever. any suggestions appreciated!!

The prop supplied is a 5x4.3, the recommended prop is a 6x4 producing 220w or a 6x5.5 at 240w, does this mean the 5x4.3 prop is too small or big, ive tested the setup runs ok the esc hardly gets warm, its a 40a but the motor does get rather hot. ive got an amp/volt meter and amps are with range ill get myself a watt meter.
