  1. We also fly several hawks together, can you let us have info on the strobes you have used ?
  2. Pussycat weighs 1lb 3oz or 540grms without battery. Having looked a bit closer the prop is 6 x 4, it draws 27A and 300 watts. The motor gets quite hot hence the cooling slot at the back.
  3. I'll weigh mine tomorrow and put a,watt meter on it.
  4. This is the tail end of my very old pushycat which is still flying. The motor is an outrunner with a high kv, the prop is 7 x 5. I get about 6 mins flight time with 3s 2200 battery.
  5. There's a danger we are getting more fun out of playing with our dollys instead of flying !!!😎
  6. They were 3d printed to make sure they had enough of a flat to run on the gutter
  7. These are a couple of dolly that I've tried, both have worked to a certain degree. The one running in a 4" gutter is good if the grass is longer it wet. The other is a better bet and is steerable as it has a rx linked to the model and programmed to the rudder.
  8. The new pla is definitely stronger, but also a bit heavier.
  9. We have a prolific 3d printer member in our club. He printed a Vulcan for me that has survived for a couple of years. It's a bit like the well known new broom, some parts are original but not all. I agree with PR P they are quite delicate and needs nothing other than a perfect landing.
  10. Logic rc are the place to go for spektrum service and spares. However I have a dx9 that I have broken for spares and would not be surprised if they are the same. How competent is your friend at taking the tx apart?
  11. I've covered a couple of models with poly c and glass cloth and never had any delamination issues, I applied a sealing coat of poly c before covering maybe this helped. The water based varnish will only offer limited fuel proofing if left for at least a couple of weeks to harden. Aero cote or two pack aerosol is the best solution. The two pack aerosol can be had in different sheens from full gloss to flat matt.
  12. Thanks for the update, Richard. I was beginning to wonder what was going on with the Tempest. We have to have something to beat up all these 190' s. Will the motor you are suggesting be ok with 4s ?
  13. Hi Richard Very envious of those that have recieved their new kits to make, any time scale for the Tempest to be available ?
  14. I'm another yes please for a Mossie. My bench is waiting for the Tempest, in the mean time I'll have to settle for maintenance, unless of course something meets an untimely arrival due to gravity.
  15. Hi Richard. You've forced me to complete my la 7 to make bench room for the Tempest now that I can see progress is being made. I'm not sure about the yellow spinner but it will do for the test flight when the weather is better.
  16. Hi Geoff It was my DB pup that the wings folded up. I hope you have more luck when you come to get yours airborne. I've since built a puppeteer from the plan and a set of ribs cut bought from a guy in scotland which I still fly.
  17. That definitely looks like a colour scheme worth thinking about.
  18. Hi Richard Happy to see the tempest on the drawing board at last, can't wait to get my hands on the kit. Keep it coming.
  19. Our station is powered by solar panels that we use for the electric flyers. It transmits via a sym card that we pay a small amount for, the idea came from a BMFA mag some years ago. I'll try to find the information.
  20. We also have our own weather station that is on our web site and can be seen on a Mobil phone. It is an old maplin one and spares are getting difficult to get so will need replacing soon. What is your station Ron?
  21. Have used them for some difficult to get engine spares and although they've taken some time they have come up trumps each time, and let me know when they were expected. Yes a great service
  22. Why not try something like the kit acro wot, would suit the 55 and while not a pattern ship will do most monouvers and fly in a wind.
  23. I have ask the obvious question, what does semff stand for?
