  1. Have used them for some difficult to get engine spares and although they've taken some time they have come up trumps each time, and let me know when they were expected. Yes a great service
  2. Why not try something like the kit acro wot, would suit the 55 and while not a pattern ship will do most monouvers and fly in a wind.
  3. I have ask the obvious question, what does semff stand for?
  4. I will be interested to see your dolly. I've tried a couple of designs with mixed results. The problem is steering them on take off, the models I tried did not have rudder so in the end I made a dolly with its own rx, battery and steerable wheels.
  5. I have covered a couple of models with the brown paper method, both ic and electric. To replicate panel lines I cut squares out of the covering instead of doing one large sheet. This worked quite well except where I made too good a job of butting up the squares.
  6. I’m going to prop all you guys up this time, unfortunately I’ve missed the prediction time again. Good racing all
  7. I think you could be right, will Recardo replace him !!🤔
  8. Thanks for the replies, just what I need to get going.
  9. Im thinking of building a couple of small electric foam models to get through the winter. What foam is considered easy to use, what adhesives are used and can they be cut with a laser printer? Lastly is there a thread about how to do it anywhere? Thanks.
  10. Hi Everybody, been following this thread so keep it going. Would like a Tempest please Richard I can put it with my Yak and Spitty although I might upset you by putting four stroke in it !😇
  11. I will second the use of prosynth 10% all our club members use it for two and four strokes of all makes. We take advantage of their bulk discount.
  12. I can't help with the plans but you might try the Facebook thread for Flair models. It's titled, In Celebration of Flair models. Good luck with your search.
  13. I agree with comments from ace, I fitted them to an old wot 4 certainly made for some interesting flying but never did it again. If you need to steepen the landing I find about 5 degs of up ailerons helps.
  14. Three pipes with two clunks, one on carb feed and one on filler and emptying pipe with exhaust pressure on the third. Makes filling and emptying very easy with no carb flooding.
  15. I have sent my form in. I must admit to it being a bit difficult to reply to some of the points as it seems to be very much pointing to drone flyers which I'm not. Wether we like it or not the BMFA are our representatives so I don't think it helpful that this thread becomes the usual bash the BMFA session.
  16. Grandad here. stick with your formula Richard, previous kits can hardly be described as difficult to build and have proved to be quite resiliant, finishing with Brown paper and rattle cans. is fairly straightforward
  17. I've been following this thread with interest so now must join in. I already have Richard's Yak and Spitfire and in the past tried to persuade him to do a mosquito!!😎 That does not look likely, so 190 it must be, the Typhoon would be different but balance always requires lots of lead. As for handlaunching I am left handed, so model in left hand, throttle up right hand ready on the sticks couldn't be easier. I've tried dolly launching, even one with receiver on rudder control also 4" gutter with a dolly which works quite well as long as the angle is not too steep. The problem with the 190 is that the fuse is quite fat so hand launching solo could be a problem, I have the 190 funfighter hence the trials of various dollys.
  18. I have a Lancaster and use a separate esc for each motor. But only use one esc to power the rx the other three have the red wire taken out and insulated. There's also lots of chat about which wires to lengthen if needed, all my esc are in the naceles so the leads from the battery have been lengthened.
  19. Also missed the deadline, so looking like I will be propping everybody up at the bottom of the league.😂
  20. I've also looked into this as I recently lost a model in crops. Most of the cheaper and pet type trackers relying on Bluetooth rely on having Mobil phones nearby, so not too much use in the middle of nowhere. The best are those that have an sym that you have to dial from your phone. I would be interested if anybody else has comments. My plane is still in the broad beans which are nearly 6 ft tall and like tree trunks. We have spotted it once using a drone but the battery went low and it returned to home before we could get bearings
  21. Very much a lottery for me this year. I swapped my team about this week and obviously picked all the duffers ! If I'd left it alone I would have done better. Just goes to show thinking too much is bad for you. 🤔🤔
  22. I always use old connectors to stop the one bring soldered from getting too hot and the contacts moving, it also helps to keep them in place as it cools.
  23. I have read somewhere that it is actually illegal to refuse to accept cash, something to do with the bank of England promise to pay to bearer. Vendors can refuse to sell to you but not on the grounds that they not take cash. Don't forget the companies controlling the software dealing with the transaction charge about 1- 1.5 %
