  1. Mine flew with an OS 91 four stroke, with the battery mounted over the motor it required no more additional lead. But build the back end as light as you can.
  2. I use one regularly to launch a fun fighter. As the model does not have rudder the dolly has its own rx and is controlled as you would a normal model with rudder.
  3. I have been given some offcuts of vinyl from a friend who has a printing company. I think it is slightly thicker so could be heavier if a lot was used, but this would be very marginal. The colours I was given are an almost perfect match for those on acro wots which came in very handy.
  4. I hope not as I have three OS_56 alphas in small bipes that I fly regularly. They are just the right size being a bit smaller in size than other four strokes of a similar capacity.
  5. Photo of the con rod in more detail. The engine is fully stripped now and there are now signs of any other damage. The bearings are ok. There is a mark on the bent half of the rod where the crank pin must have hit it. The big end bush was still on the crank pin. Luckily I think this must have stopped the engine immediately so no damage was caused by bits flying around. Glenn
  6. Ok will see if I can get a better photo tomorrow
  7. This is the offending con rod. I expected to find the piston seized which would put strain on the con rod, but the piston and liner are fine. It's in a puppeteer and was on its second flight when it stopped and threw off both nuts and the prop, I had to land son wind but all is well with the model
  8. For my pennyworth I think you should have no problem with a wots wot as you have your a cert. They are steady and easy flyers.
  9. Thanks , will give rc Japan a go, I'm not in any hurry but still can't quite understand why it failed in such a catastrophic manner. There is no sign of any other problems but I will renew the bearing while the engine is in bits.
  10. I am trying to find a conrod for my os 72 which has split! I've tried most of the usual UK suppliers but no no so far. Any ideas where I might get it from ?
  11. I think I'll take the rest of the season off ! Yes it was entertaining but so is watching dodgems at the fairground! 👺
  12. Carbon copy and Sarik hobbies might be worth a look both have various cowls.
  13. I'm afraid to admit I got too involved helping my son move house today that I did not get my predictions in on time, so I guess I will be propping everybody up. Never mind the only way is up !! Looks like a predictable result unless Alonso can put a spanner in the works. Ferrari look to be starting the season off as they finished from last year.
  14. Hello everybody. Just rejoined and picked my team. The budget does not give us much room to pick a decent team, I guess many of us have one decent car followed by the back row runners. Never mind it gives a bit more interest to the racing.
  15. Thanks for all the suggestions. It's something about the Ar6210 as I've managed to bind an old Ar8000 with the 620 so will use the 8000 on the dolly
  16. I am trying to bind an ar 620 and at 6210 together. The 620 is in a fun fighter, the 6210 is on a dolly. I want to use the dolly with rudder control which the fun fighter does not have that way I can control the run down the strip. It must be possible many large models have twin receivers. Both bind independently but not together ?
  17. I would so as kc has suggested, run a longer bolt or threaded rod down as far as you can, thread lock it in place then use nuts to hold the head tight. I think the Irvine engine is prone to this problem we have an old club trainer with an Irvine and most of the head bolts have stripped and been replaced by threaded rods and nuts.
  18. Most of my fourstrokes have plastic spinners and so far none have been a problem apart from the odd vertical landing. You can ream out the aluminium backplate but I suggest opening up the prop slots with a conventional file as a sanding drum may pick up the soft aluminium.
  19. Hi Andy I've just finished construction of an Acro Wot kit and now at the covering stage. Mine is I C powered with a OS 70, I have electrified a mk 2 that a club member crashed and I rebuilt it as an eperiment, I made the top hatch removable to change batteries it runs on two 3700 3s at which it balances really well. Good luck with yours.
  20. Quite a few panics in our club a couple came to sticky ends due to the poor fittings as supplied. All those that are surviving have been rebutted with decent clevises.
  21. Thanks Ron. Tried to edit and saved an inverted photo but it still turned it upside down, so then I resized it and it has posted ok. I don't understand it but it worked.!
