  1. Dick, it is in two parts; it seems to indicate the rx is bound and - as indicated when it worked correctly per above - that the system is armed. I've copied the model and it works but I note I'm not getting Assist G telemetry. I am going to start from scratch and only use copy for reference (throws etc).
  2. Martin and Dick, thank you both for your help. For other reasons, I've decided to revert to Futaba and, once I've determined the system is serviceable and safe, I'll be selling it. Dick - thanks for hint on connection for USB.
  3. @martin I selected another model on my DS-12, bound the receiver and it all works ('Armed' etc, too). The red mark I referred to in the above post also went. Device explorer also shows 'REX 10A'. Went back and tried with the original model, original issue recurs. Can only conclude there is a corruption in the model configuration. Best set it up as another model and delete its first config.
  4. Thank you. About to try Martins suggestions but see attached. What is the red bar to the right of TX output graphic? Looks like a black tick mark above it. Not described in the manual I have.
  5. Hi Martin - rebound with bind plug in 'EXT'. I thought about attitude - the model's, not mine! - since it was on a slight incline. I switched off, levelled up but no change. Will try other suggestions. @dickw, where would I find the REX10A.bin? I've read through the stuff available with USB plugged in.
  6. Thanks Dick. Nothing untoward occurred when disconnecting RX batteries and packing up in the garage. Everything was fine and switched off in the correct order. The fault first manifested when powering-up after assembly at the field. All the updates I did were part of post-fault troubleshooting. I cannot update the RXs right now because both the Jeti Studio and Esprit app constantly requesting reconnecting device (which I do). I suspect my laptop is the culprit here. However, I'm not certain the RXs are the problem here since the TX manifests the issue with two different identical units. Will look at REX10A.bin.
  7. System worked well in the garage when tested prior to packing in car for Sunday's flying. Once at the field and connected, no response to DS-12 control inputs. Rebound OK but no change, Once back home, retried and used a different receiver, with battery plugged in directly. Same result. I do not get the 'Armed' audio notification. Updated transmitter firmware, checked all voltages & connections with no faults. I suspect possibly a transmitter issue or, more likely, operator ignorance! Only change from testing on Saturday and the field was that the transmitter (in a case) and aircraft were left in the car. The ambient overnight was no lower than 10C. See images taken with everything switched on.
  8. Thanks Ken. Looks quite comprehensive. It may answer another question about allocating the throttle trim to a left or right slider or a two-position switch.
  9. I've got a Kingtech K-80 turbine with the 'old-style' ECU and I'm using a Hitec Aurora 9. I've set the radio up per, and configured the ECU for diesel in accordance with the instruction manual. Problem is, as soon as I power up the ECU (with all batteries plugged in), the engine starts to spool up and looking at the peak revs during that spool up, I think the ECU is in cool-down mode (the engine has not been run so far). I live in Florida and the ambient temperature is quite high (30C at the time) and that is above the 28C cool-down threshold for the ECU. I cannot alter this value, nor can I, incidentally run the pump to prime it or test starter. The spool up only stops when I disconnect the starter battery; in other words, throttle stick and trim position make no difference. One other potential problem, perhaps, is, that while the radio appears set up on the ECU, the Hitec 9 throttle trim cannot be moved when the stick is over 50% position. I have to set the trim full up and then move the stick full up to set up the 'trim highstick high' mode; I can't do them at the same time. I wonder of that is 'confusing' the system. Any ideas? An internet search finds nothing about it and the manual is...challenging.
  10. Gents Thank you very much for your replies. Steve, we'll be in Seville but will be driving from France. Will contact if nearby. regards Christian
  11. I've lived and worked several countries and indulged in my hobby in most of them. However, I was generally in one place for some time and could keep the equipment, tools and other paraphernalia with me. Also, I could use my preferred method of propulsion, petrol engines. However, to fit in with Mrs. H's desire for a peripatetic lifestyle, I want to take the hobby with me but this will entail, for practical reasons, electric models and kits and equipment that can be built on a kitchen table. Simple enough but I wondered if anyone else travels widely but keeps up with modelling? If so, are there any practical tips about joining local clubs or buying used equipment? My BFMA membership has lapsed but I'm currently a member of the AMA in the USA. Most of the travel will be in Europe ranging from the UK (no issue there), Spain, France and Slovenia for the next year.
  12. Yep, their (AGM) 'technicist' said the same thing
  13. OK. maybe I'm my usual dimwit but...the AGM 30 choke is locked in place when the throttle is at idle (or just above (at least on the engine I bought!). The AGM manual states the starting technique is set choke and then set throttle to full so that action takes the choke off. Is there a mod to these (Walbro) carbs?
