Reno Racer
Rusty, If you asked that you'd need 2 answers, mine and my wife's! I think there's about 60 hours difference in those 2 answers.
Rusty C
Chris Yeah that sound about right, I spend lots of time in there too between cars, boats and most recently aircraft. Don't get so much trauma there Rusty

Wingman
How about Flight training :- Are you self-taught? Were you trained by a registered club instructor? Were you trained by a fellow club member? Were you trained by a non-club acquaintance? Were you trained by a professional RC flight training company? Were you trained by a mixture of the above? Broken Prop
On the back of the 'How many unstarted kits do you have?' poll, how about, 'How many sets of plans do you have put by for that rainy day that neve rseema to come?' I admit to being very very guilty here. I thought I only had hree box folders full, but I found some more the other day Pete (closet plan collector)
Philflyer
New poll idea Are you happy with present transmitter ergonomics ie 2 sticks with trims adjacent to the the sticks and everything else on toggle switches? Personally, I think the present design is awful. The trims are always wrong - you must be able to operate a trim without looking at it and at the same time as the control it is trimming. I also hate the throttle being on a gimbal. Thoughts anyone?

All ARTF's Mostly ARTF's Mostly kit built/plan built All kit built/plan built CS
GrahamC
OK slightly tongue in cheek.... How skilled a pilot do you consider yourself to be? Answers: I'm bad... The field mysteriously empties whenever I arrive I'm learning... I'm still learning and fly mainly on a buddy box I'm competent... I fly circuits and simple aerobatics I'm good... I knife edge, bunt and spin mostly without crashing! I'm the man... I'm the one everyone wants to fly their maiden flights. I'm awesome. I can prop hang a trainer till it runs out of fuel. I'm beyond great. I taught Ali Machinchy everything he knows Lots of opportunites for lying here!
Reno Racer
How about a poll which indicates the impact of the recession on our modelling expenditure. Something like: How has your modelling been affected over the past few years recession? 1. Now buy less ARTFs and build from kit/plan more than before. 2. Now buy less ARTFs and Kits and only build from plans. 3. Now buy less ARTFs, Kits and finish, modify or repair my existing fleet. 4. Sold off my 'spares' to fund new builds/ARTF purchases. 5. No longer buy any new Planes. 6. No change, still spend a similar amount and build the same ARTF or Kits. Chris

Chris the problem with number one is kit built models tend to cost alot more than ARTF. it maybe kit builder noy buy an ARTF because it costs less
Mark Powell 2
Problem with voluntary polls is that they are simply not valid. I look at, but do not subscribe to, another forum. not model related. They have 130,000 subscribers. They are always having polls and the average response is about 50. With these small number of responses the very fact that you respond at all makes you unrepresentative, or, if you prefer, not typical of the majority of people who subscribe. But the owners of the site are too dim to see that. Here, I suspect, they are just done for fun, and that is fine.

fly boy3
As I have not converted to 2.4Gig, Just wondered how many forum members are still using 35Mhz, all the time or now and then as per model. Cheers
IanN
Not sure how you'd phrase this, but what about a poll on how much £ worth of gear have you accumulated that will probably never, ever, get used? I've just been looking at a couple of brand new 35mhz Rx's, and some engines that seemed like a good idea at the time but in reality are light years away from ever seeing a prop or smelling fuel, Add to that the "bits and pieces" - how did I EVER think I'd need all those fuel tanks, wheels, and what on earth possessed me to buy those sizes of prop, etc etc...? You get the picture
