Chris Bott - Moderator
I have a Silhouette running on 6A123 cells, so that's a voltage a little under a 5S lipo. Along with a 650Kv 600W motor and (I think) a 13x8 APC-E prop. Goes very nicely indeed.

Ron Wylie
I have a Silhouette for sale . It's about 3/4 built and has all of the "extra's" (cowl, u/c legs, tail wheel etc.) and the wood parts to complete it. The wings are in need of some attention as some areas of the veneer has come loose but other than that it's well built and in good condition. Offers ? martin collins 1
Sorry to resurrect this old thread, just bought a Silhouette at the Nats, looks old but unflown with a poor covering effort. Going electric with this on 4s, if it flies as nice as i think it might i will recover it over the winter. Someone on here had a new cowl, if it is still out there i would like it as this one has been cut for an i.c motor, may make some spats up as i think it lends itself to them............Martin
alex Wilkins
Hi Martin, Ive just picked up an old silohette thats needs a fair bit work. If you manage to get a replacement cowl, can I have your old one? I dont have one for this i was thinking about how i could make one. I have another ic silohette with a cowl that i could use as a template. a replacement one would be the ideal solution. alex
martin collins 1
Hi Alex, no offers of a cowl so i have just used white solartrim over the large holes left by the silencer etc. Came up nicely with a bit of trim made up from some old profilm i had, needed a pilot as well! Flys really nicely, post a picture of yours, i would like to see them..............Martin
leccyflyer
Gents - I didn't see the additions to this thread when they came up - I'll have a look to see if that Silhouette cowl is still there and let you know. I've got that same pilot in the workshop Martin!
leccyflyer
No sign of the old red cowl cut away for IC, but the brand new fibreglass Silhouette cowl is here in my hand. If you want it then a fiver (for luck) plus £3.00 to cover the postage would be fine.. Just drop me a message with your address and you can Paypal me the funds. martin collins 1
Did you get yours in the air Alex, love to see a picture of it. Mine has become my go to general flyer, hoping to get some air time with it tomorrow to see the new year in........
martin collins 1
Look what arrived at my door today....... Someone gave me a club magazine and this was in the adverts. It seems complete and in good condition but there are no instructions, all the parts are numbered but i assume there was some form of instructions with it originally? Does anyone have a copy they could scan?
Denis Watkins
The Silhouette is practically built Martin, slab sided and foam turtleneck already formed. What I am leading up to is that just two typed sheets came with my original giving scant notes To be honest, you can get by just offering up the bits and dry fitting of parts
martin collins 1
My other one is a great flyer, i am looking to use a motor/battery combination to give this one much more vertical and speed. Got to decide on a colour scheme as well, gonna enjoy assembling this.............

martin collins 1
Looks pretty sharp for a 10 year old model Tony, any significance in the registration number, the full size on that reg was a Leopard Moth.
fly boy3
Lovely looking model , I was told years ago it's a slippery ship. Just some info. Cheers. Do they have a web site ?
martin collins 1
Not been available for a number of years now, shame, they fly really nicely and look great, quick assembly. I would have thought there was still a market for these............

martin collins 1
This thread got me thinking, is there anybody out there at the moment producing this sort of quick build kit, ie, foam wings and decking, sheet fuselage etc. I could be interested in a kit if it was scalish looking? Not looking for an ARTF, this feels like a cross between that and a proper kit, i enjoy the covering/finishing as well. Also not looking for something that costs nearly £200, i like to keep my modeling cost down to maximize the fun!
