Hi Guys. I reckon this section is looking a wee bit thin, so how about some ideas..For a starter, Let us have a look at your workshops. No tidying up mind you, just straight in there right now, and a quick digital pic......I'm in a cave in France, so,here it is. 'Tidy is for wimps'

Hi Rob, Timbo showed me a good way....

Set up an account with someone like Photobucket (free) and download your picture from your PC to this site.

Click on the 'Direct Link' bit and 'copy'.

Come back to this session at Modelflyer and click on the top right small green tree symbol on the new post bit and 'paste your 'Direct Link' address into the URL strip and click 'INSERT'.  Done.

It is now a lot easier to just post direct from your PC than it used to be. However a couple of reasons why I still dont use this method

1) Maximum photo size allowed is weedy - only 250 k/byte ( not restricted via photobucket - just auto resized )

2) It automatically puts a copy of the photo in your gallery also - many times I do not want this thank you!

OK you asked for it, so dont complain about how many pictures you get ! This is ( rather sadly ) how my "garage" looks pretty well all the time - I just cant stand clutter and mess My modelling has to share the place with 2 x cars, and various other pursuits, all of which have to have storage space, including electronics, PC building, woodwork, building, joinery, fishing, metalworking, a kit car, DIY etc etc so things HAVE to be organised.

First few pictures show what I had to start with a couple of years ago....cold, dusty, open-roofed bog standard brick /concrete block double garage. Wifey and I ( she is my ace apprentice ) set too with insulating the walls, and fitting false ceiling, complete with total re-wire and finishing decoration.

This picture is of current work ( a multicylinder onboard glow unit ) which is on one of two benches.

Note of course, modelflying.co.uk is on the PC, together with the obligatory radio 2 or 4.

next up is general view from the door end of the garage. A couple of models are temporarily resting on the kit car, as they are just about to be loaded for a session You can probably make out the plumbing pipe rack overhead at the far end for more model storage.

Now we have a quick spin around to see the door end of the garage, which is pretty much dead space, apart from pressure washing stuff for the cars etc.

post size limited....tour continues below for those not yet asleep.

Next up...is what I laughingly refer to as my "engineering bench" - micro lathe, pillar drills, nuts and bolts, etc. On this bench at the moment is my big astroflight charger together with one of the home made PSUs, and a few LiPo packs awaiting charging, and a large outrunner motor destined for the Sopwith camel. The large wooden chest of drawers and filing cabinet hold mainly woodworking and power tools.

OK so along to a mechanics toolchest - housing...well,errr, mechanics tools ! Up above in the smaller chest is the accessories and tools for the Lathe. The large kitchen cupboard above holds loadsmof different things  such as paints, airbrush, knives, small tools etc etc - and my Twister bell 47 for those odd chopper moments

Next is the side wall with shelf of stacking boxes containing various stuff, including fishing tackle, and few more models !

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e10/eunos800/8shelf.jpg

Other side wall is mainly car related stuff and general decorating. Another stacking shelf holds mainly electronics gear.

Finally ( phew at last... I hear you cry ) One of several multi-tray component boxes, this one contains mostly electric flight stuff.

To keep me tootsies warm and comfy, I fitted these rubberised foamy tiles to the standing areas - got 'em from Lidl a few months back. One is also glued to the floor under each car wheel parking place to prevent the floor paint from peeling.

And absolutely finally, before entering the obligatory gift and souvenier shop...heres the missus busily making and painting the pilot which will be flying the Cyril carr triplane which I have just finished last night. Of course, she gets the warm and bright dining room / auxillary workshop! - but she better be quick, as I have run out of coffee and sticky buns !

Hi Timbo,

Wow,  How do you keep it so perfect? Aircraft too look immaculate. Bet you spent a couple of days tidying for the pix, and simonizing the airframes. I could reduce that lot to chaos in about ten minutes. You've inspired me, I'm off to tidy up..Tidy photo later

Nah.... the camera does lie Ernie, the aircraft aint really that mint I am afraid.

Nope, no tidying done - as I say, I am cursed with a severe case of OCD I am afraid.

I spend most of the time behind the wheel flicking off tiny spots of dust from the dashboard etc - I shouldnt be allowed on the road !
