D,

How are you feeling still sick or hopefully much bettersmiley.

Great job with the copper tube, must admit thats the fun part of cutting your own model making those special tools, hoping they work or even better seeing they work a treatyes

Any progress looking forward to some more pics , or is it flying already.

Tommy,

Is the Mustang flying already looking forward to some maiden shotswink

Cheers

Slow progress. Spent some time struggling with the aileron servo and pushrod arrangement as per plans. I am trying to work with what material I have lying around. The pushrods I had when bent into the curve shape suffered from binding no matter what angle they were at so I had a rethink and decided on 90 degree bellcranks. See photos, seems ok, no slop noticeable. Should be ready for covering this week.

Fist flight in the video with the CG on the mark, felt a bit tail heavy.
Second flight with the battery moved forward felt better.

The small spec in the video is the plane, kind of boring video but perhaps better than nothing...
First time I tried my Mobius as a hat cam, worked better than I thought. smiley

I don't think I used full power even at take off... smiley
I was using a 7x3,5. The plan was to try a few others (7x4 and 7x6) but I forgot to bring them.
Only a few bursts on full power in the video, I was afraid the motor/prop would be low on power but no problem att all.

Did you measure how many watts you use in your setup?

I like the plane and I had a lot of fun flying it. It feels both stable and hysterical at the same time, could do very tight turns without stalling.
One thing, if you are going to land on icy snow, put some tape on the bottom of the plane to save the covering...

I started flying with a Gunther prop than went to the orange 5x4.3 which is a nice own.

Than tested a 6x3 but that was not enough speed and last weekend flown an 5x5 and am most happy with that.

With the 5x5 the static Amps are 7.1A measured which makes about 55watts and liking it.

I just love to make turns within 1 mtr flipping it around.

The Ice landings looked okay maybe a ski will make the differance or you can catch the Mustang .

Cheers
