Quick update...

It seems Vettel has now been disqualified from the Hungarian GP due to fuel issues.  The FIA were unable to extract the required litre of fuel after the race for analysis,  only 0.3 litres could be taken.  This has resulted in Vettel being disqualified.  Aston Martin have stated that they intend to appeal against the decision.

At the moment the results on fantasygp have not been amended in line with this development.

Revised scores in John.

OK,  take 2!  The scores have now been revised in light of Vettel's disqualification.  So our results from Hungary now look like this;

Pos League
Rank
Team Manager Pts
1 9 2 Revers Racing Pete B 200
2 8 2 teewrex John Tee 155
3 12 0 The JP Specials johnpflyrc 142
4 1 0 Pitts Specials john stones 138
5 13 0 DMFC Racing Team Simon Webb 135
6 10 1 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 117
7 6 0 PSS Power Flyer 116
8 5 0 Igoronic racing iqon 112
9 2 0 GASTON Formula Chris McG 104
10 11 3 Torque of the devil Stu 103
11 3 1 Essex Racing Tony Clark 100
12 7 0 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 88
13 4 1 Oyster f1 Glenn Philbrick 75

Pete still takes top spot, but now with 200 points.  John Tee is still second, now on 155,  but I sneak past Ade to take third on 142 points.

What about the overall table?  Well the top 8 are unchanged from what we had yesterday, but there's a bit more activity below 8th;

Pos League
Rank
Team Manager Pts
1 1 0 Pitts Specials john stones 1659
2 2 0 GASTON Formula Chris McG 1603
3 3 1 Essex Racing Tony Clark 1461
4 4 1 Oyster f1 Glenn Philbrick 1455
5 5 0 Igoronic racing iqon 1450
6 6 0 PSS Power Flyer 1415
7 7 0 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 1377
8 8 2 teewrex John Tee 1365
9 9 2 Revers Racing Pete B 1350
10 10 1 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 1339
11 11 3 Torque of the devil Stu 1326
12 12 0 The JP Specials johnpflyrc 1208
13 13 0 DMFC Racing Team Simon Webb

1123

Pete's win is now rewarded with a move upwards of 2 places to 9th.  Kev still drops one place to 10th,  but Stu loses out further, slipping 3 places instead of 1, now down to 11th.

All this could, of course, change again if Aston Martin appeal and that appeal is successful.  No appeal has yet been confirmed, though A-M did indicate yesterday that they intended to appeal.  Hopefully all will be resolved - one way or the other - before the end of the summer break!

Thanks once more for the 'double' job, John P.

Congrats to Pete for his really great score.  ?

Comparable to John S, I lost 2 drivers & 2 cars from my team in that first lap... bis repetita, after the Silverstone 'issue'...

C'est la vie...  ?

IRL,  it's really a shame that VET lost the result of that splendid drive in Hungary.

To all > enjoy your summer break & see you in Spa

Cheers

Chris

OK folks... As John S has already said,  we're back racing again!  The summer break is over, and it's time for me to remind you all;

Don't forget your predictions!

It's Spa this weekend,  and P! saw Bottas the setting fastest lap with Verstappen second.  Hamilton was apparently on course to beat Bottas' time, but was blocked by Latifi and narrowly avoided a collision.  P2 saw Vertappen setting the fastest time,  ahead of Bottas and Hamilton - though not by much,  just 4 and 7 hundredths of a second respectively.

Qualifying is at 2pm BST tomorrow, with the race at the same time on Sunday.

Well...

I made one great decision today.  I decided to record the race,  go flying this afternoon and then watch the race after my daily bike ride.  It didn't take too long to "FF" through the bits where nothing was happening,  and to wonder why I was even bothering to watch the "race" laps taking place behind the safety car.

So in the end,  it was the weather that won today.  The drivers came away with half-points from what was a bit of a non-event.  I haven't found an announcement on fantasygp, but they're obviously giving us half points today too,  which I guess is fair enough!

So,  let's look first at our league results for today;

Pos League
Rank
Team Manager Pts
1 7 0 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 66.5
2 10 1 Torque of the devil Stu 65.0
3 2 0 GASTON Formula Chris McG 61.5
4 3 0 Essex Racing Tony Clark 60.5
5 1 0 Pitts Specials john stones 60.0
6 9 0 Revers Racing Pete B 58.0
7 6 0 PSS Power Flyer 52.5
8 8 0 teewrex John Tee 49.5
9 12 0 The JP Specials johnpflyrc 42.5
10 5 0 Igoronic racing iqon 41.5
11 13 0 DMFC Racing Team Simon Webb 40.0
12 4 0 Oyster f1 Glenn Philbrick 37.5
13 11 1 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 25.5

Charles takes our top spot today with 66.5 points from Stu on 65 and Chris on 61.5.  Well done to them!

In terms of the overall championship, our league now looks like this;

Pos League
Rank
Team Manager Pts
1 1 0 Pitts Specials john stones 1719.0
2 2 0 GASTON Formula Chris McG 1664.5
3 3 0 Essex Racing Tony Clark 1521.5
4 4 0 Oyster f1 Glenn Philbrick 1492.5
5 5 0 Igoronic racing iqon 1491.5
6 6 0 PSS Power Flyer 1467.5
7 7 0 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 1443.5
8 8 0 teewrex John Tee 1414.5
9 9 0 Revers Racing Pete B 1408.0
10 10 1 Torque of the devil Stu 1391.0
11 11 1 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 1364.5
12 12 0 The JP Specials johnpflyrc 1250.5
13 13 0 DMFC Racing Team Simon Webb

1163.0

John S remains at the top of the league with Chris narrowing his gap by just 1.5 points.

The only place change in the league today is Stu - with his points from second place - moving up to 10th, displacing Kev down to 11th.

Hopefully we'll have better conditions in the Netherlands next weekend for Max's home race.  Don't forget your predictions!

I wasn't feeling really encouraged to post here after yesterday's 'non-event' except for thanking John P for his kind follow up.

For me, after about twenty years of car racing in different categories, what we saw in Spa was - IMHO - a total 'pantomine'... never a 'race'...

Of course, no way to let the guys race in those conditions of zero visibility.

BUT, a few laps behind a SC never has been a 'race'... since you just have to 'follow' without any overtaking allowed.

NO 'greens laps' = NO 'race'

NO 'race' = NO points & certainly NO podium

What Masi / FIA / Liberty did was just taking care of their own big money by ensuring no 'cancelling of the event' would bring them into contract issues with sponsors / broadcasters and other parties.

Even Dominicali - Liberty's CEO - now claiming that not Liberty but the promotors should take the responsibility to refund the fans present at Liberty's 'non-event'... unbelievable...

I guess I could be ashamed now to be an old & die hard fan now...

Matata mingi, I'm afraid

Chris

Evening all!

A bit later than usual as I got stuck doing some model club admin stuff this evening,  but hot on the heels of a rather forgettable Belgian GP this weekend it's the Dutch GP.  So, the customary reminder;

Don't forget your predictions!

P1 saw Hamilton just ahead of Verstappen, with the 2 Ferraris next and then Bottas.  P2 was a different story for Hamilton,  an engine problem left him 11th with just one flying lap.  Verstappen was unlucky to "lose" 2 flying laps - the session was red-flagged twice, and each time he was in the middle of a decent flying lap.  Verstappen posted on ly the 5th fastest time in P2 with Leclerc and Sainz's Ferraris heading the leaderboard, with Ocon and Bottas following.

Usual European times (2pm BST) for both qualitying and the race.  Hopefully the weather will be better than last weekend!!!

Thanks to both of you.  ?

I got a bit distracted by enjoying - from a distance, unfortunately - that superb weather there in Holland in the Zandvoort dunes...

Glad to read that the majority of the drivers enjoyed the revised track, especially the two 'bankings'.

The general idea is that there will be some 'traffic jams' over there during Q1 or even later on tomorrow afternoon in Q2...

Really not so sure about what to predict, probably a last minute job after FP3...

Good luck to all

Cheers

Chris

Evening all - I'm running behind schedule again... ?  I made the most of the good weather today by recording the race, going flying this afternoon, and finally a 52 km bike ride before watching the recording of the race.

So after all that, let's see how we all scored today!

Pos League
Rank
Team Manager Pts
1 4 1 Igoronic racing iqon 192
2 2 0 GASTON Formula Chris McG 184
3 5 1 Oyster f1 Glenn Philbrick 182

5 1 0 Pitts Specials john stones 175
6 3 0 Essex Racing Tony Clark 170
7 8 1 Revers Racing Pete B 128
8 12 0 The JP Specials johnpflyrc 121
9 9 1 teewrex John Tee 120
10 11 0 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 113
11 7 1 PSS Power Flyer 110
12 10 0 Torque of the devil Stu 98
13 13 0 DMFC Racing Team Simon Webb 77

Today's top scorer is Iqon on an impressive 192 points.  Next up is Chris on 184 points and Glenn takes third, only 2 points back on 182.  Well done to today's top three!

Has John S done enough today with his 175 points to hold off Chris?  Let's find out!

Pos League
Rank
Team Manager Pts
1 1 0 Pitts Specials john stones 1894.0
2 2 0 GASTON Formula Chris McG 1848.5

5 5 1 Oyster f1 Glenn Philbrick 1674.5
6 6 1 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 1622.5
7 7 1 PSS Power Flyer 1577.5
8 8 1 Revers Racing Pete B 1536.0
9 9 1 teewrex John Tee 1534.5

12 12 0 The JP Specials johnpflyrc 1371.5
13 13 0 DMFC Racing Team Simon Webb 1240.0

There's a few mid-table place swaps,  but the top three are unaffected by today's result.  John S holds first place from Chris, but with a slightly reduced gap.  Tony holds third.

Behind them though there's a flurry of changes...  Iqon's win today is enough to take him up to 4th, displacing Glenn down to 5th.  Charles moves up to 6th at the expense of Ade who slips to 7th,  and finally Pete moves above John T - by the slender margin of 1.5 points - to take 8th, moving John down to 9th.  The remaining places remain unchanged.

It was good to see a return to racing today, rather than a procession behind the safety car!  Next up is Imola next weekend.  Don't forget your predictions!

Evening all!

It's another sprint qualifying race weekend, this time in Monza. So, time for the customary reminder;

Don't forget your predictions!

In today's practice/qualifying session Bottas took pole for tomorrow's sprint qualifying race, with Hamilton second and Verstappen third.  Next came the two McLaren's in the customary order...

The spring qualifying race is at the later time of 3:30pm BST tomorrow,  with the race at the usual 2pm on Sunday.

OK, results time...  I'm still watching (a recording of) the race as I was out flying again this aftenoon, but I'll post the league results anyway.

First up, the league results today,  and probably no surprise that it's a rather low-scoring day!

Pos League

11 10 2 Revers Racing Pete B 66
12 5 2 Essex Racing Tony Clark 66
13 13 0 DMFC Racing Team Simon Webb 50

Ade takes top spot today on 127 points from Stu on 125 points and Glenn on 114 points.  Well done to today's top 3!

Kev was the only other person to score a 3-digit score today on 106.

Let's have a look then at the overall table after today's race;

Pos League
Rank
Team Manager Pts
1 1 0 Pitts Specials john stones 1978.0
2 2 0 GASTON Formula Chris McG 1937.5
3 3 2 Oyster f1 Glenn Philbrick 1788.5
4 4 0 Igoronic racing iqon 1776.5

12 12 0 The JP Specials johnpflyrc 1450.5
13 13 0 DMFC Racing Team Simon Webb 1290.0

John S holds first place overall with Chris remaining in second.  Behind them though, Glenn jumps 2 places, up to 3rd, with Tony lipping 2 places to 5th - in the middle of that Iqon stays 4th.  Further down the table John T and Stu each move up a place to 8th and 9th respectively which means that Pete drops 2 places today, down to 10th.  No further place changes after that.

Next up is Russia in 2 weeks time.

Evening all!

It's another GP weekend,  and this time we're in Sochi.  So first, the customary reminder;

Don't forget your predictions!

P1 saw Bottas setting fastest time, a couple of tenths ahead of Hamiltoin with Verstappen just a couple of hundredths behind.  P2 also saw Bottas ahead of Hamilton, but by a smaller margin. Gasly set 3rd fastest with Norris, Ocon and Verstappen taking the next places.

Note that whatever happens in qualifying, Verstappen will start from the back of the grid due to a penalty for using too many engines.

P3 is at 10:00 BST tomorrow with qualifying at 13:00.  The race is at 13:00 on Sunday.

Thanks once more, John P.

I'm moving house this WE and will get my predictions done without being able to follow the 'last' grid opportunities.

My follow -up of the results will depend on my new internet connection, scheduled for October 8th at the earliest...

Best of luck to all for the Russian race...

Cheers

Chris
