Forum members' new models: Let's see them.

Posted a couple of these piccies in the Spring 2022 flying thread, but they are new models to me, so have a place here too.

E-Flite 1.2M Spitfire XIV and P-47D Thunderbolt had successful maidens on Monday. It's amazing how much difference that extra 100mm makes over my more usual 1.1m foamie warbirds, especially in the ground handling. Photos by my pal Derek.

Graham, Cracking job there and interested as to how well the camo works (I had a Focke Wolf with the blue/grey leopard and it did a very good job of disappearing at times)?

Thanks Chris,

No problem in the bright blue skies yesterday, but I can imagine a different story when the light is more marginal. The KB-11 can be a bit invisible, but my Yak-3 can completely disappear against our backdrop! The good thing about the Ki45 is that the low wing loading means it can be flown much slower (and more scale-like), so it's not quite so traumatic when you get those few seconds of "where's it gone? Oh, there it is; which way is it pointing?"!

Successful maiden of my new (to me) Ripmax Messerschmitt Bf109E. She flies just like the Ripmax Spitfire on 3s1p3300mah G-Power lipo and AXI 2820/10 - I think it's a 10x7" APC-E prop. The only thing is that I was pre-warned of a severe torque roll to the left on hand launch, which needs to be countered with full right rudder and that action corrected the climb out beautifully.  My pal Derek obliged with a great launch and then took a few snaps as the Emil grooved up and down. ?

This is my 30" Scram which I flew for the first time last weekend, powered by a Redfin 020 Kompish diesel.

Here is a video of one of its flights, powered backed off to try and keep it lower and closer for the camera. A full tank with a few more revs gets it to a decent height, good fun.

My new ESM Mustang powered by a Laser 160 in-line twin, together with its maiden flight complete with rubbish take off (over zealous rudder control and no subtle up elevator to hold tail down!!!). Conditions were really quite poor with very grey skies, low cloud / mist and a tad on the cold side. I know that it's missing the pilot and the gear doors too but I ran out of time.

Maiden flight of my Flightline Hawker Sea Fury today - I'm really enjoying these 1.2M foamies at the moment, the 10cm extra wingspan belies the large difference in the volume and feel on the ground and in the air, compared to my more usual 1.1m foamies. I couldn't get the flaps operating correctly, so disabled them for the maiden flight, but the model was as good as gold. Thanks to my pal Derek for the excellent piccies.
