jimmy bond
New to building and the hobby in general. The Attila is a first build to gain some experience and its going ok.Got to the point where i can start to think of servos and placenent etc. The plan shows full size servos and i know things have moved on from there over rthe years. 3 servos are on plan but i intend to go elec so only 2 needed rud and ele not going with aileron.I understand being the type of model it is fast servos are not required but i have no idea how to choose the torq needed and size. any tips would be great. Paul Marsh
There was a thread here: (Perhaps merge this thread with that thread). **LINK**
Richard Wood
Jimmy, Hitec HS81 have been trouble free in my Attila - the plastic gears on these are a little delicate but are ok for a model of this size & weight. HS82 & HS85 have metal gears & are more robust but cost a lot more. TBH you'd be ok just fitting 2 standard servos such as the excellent value HS311 unless you really want to keep weight to a minimum.
john stones 1 - Moderator
i'd agree with above , hitec also do 225's one with metal gear and one with nylon which are mini servo's, and would be ideal
Paul Marsh
I'm using old Sanwa 102 servos. Standard servos will do.
