Good to see that not only have the new owners maintained Alans prices, they're also offering a £10 discount for pre-orders

Not sure that still applies. My order just went through at full price sad

Some time ago I bought what I was told is a SAS Apache. All the ones I see of the net are "normal" tail planes but mine has a V tail. Flys a treat and goes like a rocket in a good wind. I have put 2 servos in the mid wing slot for flaperons or it just won't come down on a good breeze. The question is is it an Apache with a V tail or another SAS altogether?,

Andy, just be aware that I think that Apache has the glass fus as per Alan's last ones. I've had a moulded one and still regularly fly mine with the Duralene fus, great models.

The Duralene fuselages were amazing things, sold to SAS by Bob Martin models. My Dad has the very last Duralene Apache (or Coyote as it was known by Bob Martin) kit sold by Alan, at a show in the lateish 90s I think. It was a "second" so needed some reinforcement around the wingseat, but still flies to this day despite the odd mishap...!

The full story on how Duralene fuselages were made and why they have never come back is on RCGroups, posted by Bob himself - it's well worth a read.

Yes, it's still an Apache/Coyote if it has that distinctive fusealage - it's just quite a lot of people (my Dad included, see above) converted them to a V tail. They fly just as well either way tbh, though my Dad's is a bit porky with it's 4 servo wing! This one is from John Woodfield...
