John F
That looks great Terry. Liking the rotor colours. Are the underneath of the rotors plain?
Terry Loram
Hi John, Colours are the same top and bottom. Have to keep fairly close in when flying to aid orientation. May change later on when I am more confident flying it.
Pascal Platteau
Hello, I maidened my Atom last thursday and i must say that I didn't know that autogyro's could fly inverted, altough not for long . I've put the Atom in the wind, gave the rotor a swirl, started rolling and suddenly it took off but the rotor wasn't spinning fast enough at all. It immediatly made a half loop, flew over my head inverted and crashed in the field behind me. luckily it was a field with tall grass and the only damage was one rotorblade broken. I got home, repaired the blade and put a 0.8mm shim on the underside instead of a 0.4mm. Back to the club. (luckily it isn't far from where I live). Put the Atom in the wind again and the rotor started spinning on its own, it was a bit windy and spun a lot faster. Than the typical "whop whop" sound started and I started rolling. After about 10 meters it took off without any problem. And now it flies great, really love it. Thanks Mr. Harris for the nice design. tomorrow I'm ordering the RPG plan from Traplet so I can build me another one
