Steve_Wright
LMS has both in, off to get one tomorrow & can't make my mind up! Already have a Wot4 XL, and fancy a little one, BUT never had a bipe & like the look of the wot.... How is the low speed handling of the Wots Wot? Any vices? Do the foam 4's fly like the bigger ones? Frank Skilbeck
I have a Wots Wot and they fly very well, no vices that I've found, the only thing with mine was that the lower wing retain tab was a bit loose in the corresponding slot in the fuselage and as I was using 75 four stroke the slight movement caused it to wear slightly, cured it by adding a bit of glassfibre board. Steve_Wright
should say both are foamies
Colin Carpenter
Hi Steve. I have the ARTF Wots Wot ,electric powered, and its superb. Low speed handling also superb. If the foamie flies as well as the acrowot f/e then its a winner. I notice the manual specifies rudder/elevator mix but not noticed its need in the ARTF. Cant beat a Fossie ! Steve_Wright
No, and won't get the chance for 2 weeks now was too windy at my field for a first flight, gave my twinstar a quick blast instead, and that was doing F1 speeds downwind, tractor speeds up Edited By Steve_Wright on 22/11/2015 17:04:
Geoff Reynolds
Just got mine. Can't wait for some good weather. Don't you just love it when they come in all white with a sheet of decals? One can let one's mind and creativity run riot deciding how to make it different from everyone else's. It might be like marmite to some, but I love it spread thickly on toast! Steve_Wright
Had a real long lay off from flying and this still hasn't flown!! If the weather ever improves I will get my eye back in on my Twinstar then then this thing in the air. Need to order a new decal set as they are lifting off it right now, can't fly a scruffy bird. GrumpyGnome
God job you can't see mine then! It's about the same age as yours but definitely showing its 600+ flights (I log them....). it is a WONDERFUL plane and goes to the flying field every time I do. Steve_Wright
5 1/2 years later....it gets its first flight! Horses Have been good enough to munch a nice 30m2 down without leaving any horse eggs on it, popped up some fence tape to keep them away (not live) and flew a plank for the first time in 3-4 years. Tried a 2200 3s first...hmmmm, control throws were as per the book and CG was where is should but it was a bit pitch happy (may have been driver error). Spent 5 minutes doing touch and go's before landing and fitting a 3900 3s. Dropped all the control throws to 50% and with the extra weight up front it was a much more stress free flight, got 10 minutes on the 3900 and used 74%. I need to adjust the right will aileron a touch so I can dial out the trim I added but other wise it just went where it was pointed. It got a bit blustery towards the end of the fight so had a few goes to land it (rusty driver again) but just floated down, this thing can go slow! The 2200 was bought for this plane so I think I will get another and run them as a pair in 3s to keep the weight up a bit. Next up, sorting my Wot4 XL. GrumpyGnome
When you get used to it, a 2200 3S is just about perfect (Ithink). Still love mine and a relative newbie couldn't believe how nice it was to fly. IMHO the best WOT foamy..
Steve_Wright
Another couple of flights yesterday, 6mins on the 2200 used 60%, 9mins on the 3900 used 70%. 2200 pack is deffo a bit light and shifts the COG a touch rearward, not drastically though. I only use that pack on the WOT so may add a few stick on weights to it as the 3900 pack is spot on. GrumpyGnome
Did you have to do any 'foam surgery' to get the 3900 in? My 2200's all fall nicely into the slot in the fuselage...
Steve_Wright
bit of a trim to the rear of the foam "box" the battery sits in, will get a snap tomorrow
