Shaun Walsh
I haven't flown it this year as it's been a bit windy but I've just put the battery in it and the COG is approx 85mm from the LE at the root. The 1400mAh battery keeps it light and gives 5 min of flying. A 2200 might be beneficial in windier weather.
Peter Jenkins
Hi PDB, if you go to paras 145 and 146 in my book there is a simple equation there to work out the mean aerodynamic chord (MAC). Find the position on the wing with that chord length and then your range will be 27%-35% of the chord length back from the LE at that position. Transfer that position to the root chord by drawing a line at right angles to the fuselage and passing through your selected CG position at the MAC. That is now the CG position at the root. I would start at 30% and work backwards till you reach a position that feels good to you.
