This event wasn't extensively advertised externally. UKCAA events are now well attended and we have been asked to limit invitations to members only and their helpers at some events This is a short report on the event.

Last Saturday's event was hosted by Loughborough MFC and once again we were very fortunate with the weather. Hazy sunshine in the morning, a smattering of raindrops that stopped no-one from flying and increased cloud cover in the afternoon. T shirt warm and a gentle SW breeze. Perfect flying conditions.

15 members turned up with 30 airframes and also one or two new faces which was great. For those who are not aware, Loughborough MFC must have one of the finest grass strip and pits area I have ever seen. Tended by an ex-professional groundsman the grass can only be described as billiard table perfect. Very impressive.

A great day flying with only one casualty unfortunately. Here are a few photos from the day

New member Stephen Lindley brought along this lovely Supra Fly 45 and flew it very competently

Andy Green's lovely Safir from the Wolfgang Matt design stable

The models pose for their lunchtime photo session.

and so do the pilots

We are normally overrun with Bullets - it looks like the Bar Fli (Phil Kraft 1969) is the model in vogue at the moment. This is a really simple build and an ideal first plan model for anyone who wants to dip their toes in the Classic scene

Barry and Marion Meredith with His and Hers Chris Olsen Upsets. A model that was ahead of its time in the 1960's. Models running on electric.

Event information is on the UKCAA Website
