Peter Miller
I Don't agree Jim. The <20 means or less than 20 mteters the 500> is or more
Peter Miller
As far as I and some of the other old, decrepit types are concerned is the fact that it is up a long steady slope. That leaves us puffing like steam engnes on steroids and takes five minutes sitting in a chair to recover Edited By Peter Miller on 12/07/2017 12:40:
Geoff S
Well we need to walk fewer than 20 metres because we drive right up to the pits, so it's 2 metres tops If I'm on my own I leave the car right next to where I'm flying. Geoff
The Wright Stuff
It depends on how full the car park is. I only walk less than 20 metres if there are fewer than 4 cars there...
Tim Flyer
We are very lucky with very good facilities at our club. We can park just behind our pits on the farm track and unload right next to the particular bench each pilot uses, so almost nothing. 😊

vic evans 1
No distance at all as I fly in my own 3Ha gardens / field in open countryside.

Mike Etheridge 1
I have voted for between 20 and 100 metres, this is for one club that flies at a well know horse racing course in Surrey. However I do belong to another club in Kent where you can drop all your planes and associated gear at the pits and then park your car in an allotted parking area. The outcome appears to be that there are more electric planes flown as there is less associated gear where a longer walk is necessary to the pits, and more planes taken and flown of all types where the walk to the pits is minimal. Mowerman
First club less than 20m Second club 100m + Third (slope ) club 500m +
Bob Cotsford
Between 5 and 30M depending on the number of cars already there, though lately I've been dropping the gear off at a free spot before parking. If I'm lucky I can reverse up to the pits, unload then pull forward 4 or 5 metres to a clear parking space. Glyn44
I'm more concerned with how far the toilets are! It's an age thing, I believe.
Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
Less than 20m group - mainly! In the winter it can be a lot further as we can't take cars down to the flight area then BEB
cymaz
At our field, if you get there early enough, car to the pits is 10' ( Google says 3.048m)
David Holland 2
I've voted 20 -100 metres (what are they?) but our car park is about 10 yards from the pits with another walk of about 40 yards to the flightline.
