Lima Hotel Foxtrot
Posted by alex nicol on 22/10/2018 17:48:23: What about a 12bore and give the pheasants and clay pigeons a rest? Joking aside, I honestly think these should be completely banned unless operated by a fully licensed and competent operator. I heard about someone who had been trained, taken a practical exam and then gained many years of driving a car... Crashed it! Lets ban cars and drivers on the basis of a fraction of incidents. On another note, instead of bringing in more laws, amendments or massively over-reactive knee-jerk responses to the existing guidelines (which have been, and will be, totally ignored anyway) how about putting the flying of model aircraft outside of a registered club environment under the laws governing operating a vehicle without due care and attention. That way if the flyer is flying like a dick, they get busted. If they are flying in accordance with the ANO, they get left alone.
Rich too
I'm not sure why operating outside a club (like me) should make a difference? Anyway, our local forces can't be guaranteed to attend after a burglary so people reporting annoying drones have got no chance. Time will tell... John Privett
Posted by Phil 9 on 22/10/2018 21:02:44: you could try an official looking sign. It may deter some of the drone operators. I know people who have had success with faux official no parking signs I was in Vancouver last summer (2017) and the harbour is effectively an active airfield with seaplanes constantly taking off and landing there. All around the area were these signs;
