Ronos
I have a set of Eflite 60-120 strut ready retracts, the thing is one of the circuit boards has burnt out(white smoke). Can you get a replacement board from any where, I have looked on Google, but with no joy, or is it going to be very expensive?
Bob Cotsford
When I asked Horizon about getting a replacement board I got 'Sorry Sir, we don't stock those but we can supply a new retract unit at a discount'. Thankyou Horizon, their discounted price was more than model shops were asking for one!
Robert Welford
I had a 60-120 nose-leg fail and Horizon UK provided a replacement FOC. I guess Horizon are a different setup now. Edited By Robert Welford on 07/02/2019 19:26:
Ronos
It's bad enough trying to get a new set. Need a set of 60-120 85 degrees strut ready, everywhere seems to be sold out so there will be no chance of getting a spare.
Bob Cotsford
If your mechanics are ok would it be worth asking for any damaged mechanics to nick the board, I'd have thought that would be common for all variants of the 60-120 size? I'll check my retracts box tomorrow to see if I've got a spare.
Ronos
Bob, the mechanics were OK. I had just taken them out of my Seafire and were going to put them in my Hanger9 P51, which requires the 10mm strut ready. I have a set of the 60-120 which take the 5mm pin ang put them in the Seafire. After installing the strut ready ones in the P51, I was just testing them, when they burnt out. The strut ready one's are a slightly wider than the one's that take the 5mm pin, probably to accommodate the 10mm strut.
Frank Skilbeck
You note the white smoked has escaped, but where did it escape from, these units often fail because the end stop micro switches fail, if that is what is broken it may be possible to fit a new one. A club member had a microswitch fail on one of his units (not E Flite ones) which he got fixed at the local model shop.

Ronos
Hi Frank, it could be the micro switch, it looked like it was coming from that area, but the board is covered in some sort of epoxy resin, so I think it would be hard to fix.
