Rom-Air Retractable tricycle undercarriage

Recommended Posts

As a returnee to fixed wing aircraft after 35 years on the helicopter side I'm recommissioning a late '70's - early '80's pattern ship!

The airframe is a Phoenix 7 equipped with Rom-Air retracts, and the plan is to fit a Kraft 61 (c/w Kraft carb!) with a Bolly carbon fibre tuned pipe, and modern r/c.

I'm stripping out the Rom-Air equipment with a view to fitting new "O" rings to the gas cylinders, new pressure lines all round, possibly a new control valve, and filler connection (for air not refrigerant in this day & age!!)

Courtesy of the BMFA classified I've acquired a complete instruction manual. I'm sure I can sort out the size and material for the air cylinder "O" rings. Probably Robart parts to replace the original lines, valves, etc - or similar from Motors & Rotors.

However, for anyone with info, advice, new and unused original parts - please get in touch.

Many thanks

John B
